Makina-San a Love Bot?!, Episode 11 — Makina’s an OnlyFans Girl

Given last week’s episode, I thought that Makina-san a Love Bot?!, episode 11, was going to be more serious, I was wrong. Instead, I ended up watching the funniest episode of Kakushite! Makina-san!! to date. While I have the highest respect for YouTubers like Simon Whistler, William Sonbuchner, and Papa Roanoke, I detest Twitch-style streamers. As a creator, I believe that reactionary streaming content is made for people with an IQ that would freeze water. So when I saw Makina-san try to embrace her inner gamer girl, it made me laugh so much that I nearly wet my bed.

I would rather parachute feet first into a pile of Lego than pay for an OnlyFans subscription. But, I have to ask myself, would my feelings on that change if it were a waifu running the page? Truly, there are hypotheticals you can’t answer unless you’ve lived through them.

Makina-san a Love Bot?!, Episode 11 in a Nutshell

Ignorance is bliss: let me show you an example. Eita can enjoy such comedic, peaceful days because he’s unaware that a busty combat android and Yaoi addict are conspiring to plug his rectum. There are so many laid-back vibes in Kakushite! Makina-san!! that it’s difficult to believe there’s any danger in the show.

If you replaced the anime’s subtitles and dressed Makina-san more modestly, this would look like a family-focused slice of life anime. I’d wholeheartedly believe it was a show about a shota and his horny robot waifu spending shiny days together.

But I know what this is! Kakushite! Makina-san!! is a show about a sex bot that cannot have sex trying to shove spiny cockleburs up Eita’s bum. As a fan of Crime Pays But Botany Doesn’t, I can appreciate crass jokes about plants. But I barely had a chance to appreciate them before Ms. High Spec shuffled between becoming a streamer and OnlyFans girl. Seeing a waifu so wantonly embrace modernity made me laugh so hard that my sides hurt into Tuesday evening.

Crime Pays, But What About OnlyFans?

I could pontificate for years on how the modern job market leads people to enter prostitution and explicit content creation. But for brevity, I won’t. I’ll cast aside my burning need to vehemently complain about how hard it is to make $3,500 despite being able to blow it instantly. But setting that fact aside is a luxury Eita and Makina don’t have. They need to get ¥500,000 to properly repair Makina’s leg. Yet, despite being a high-spec AI robot, the kawaii waifu can only think of making money by getting laid. Is that a sign that she lacks the intelligence she claims, or is it proof that even a highly intelligent machine knows sexual content will always reap a profit? I can’t answer that question for you. However, my bets are on the latter option. Ignoring the ethics of the plot, that scene had me bawling with laughter! Also, kudos to whoever placed Makina-san in such scant clothing. When I die, I hope that’s one of the images that flashes before my eyes.

Random Thoughts

Hilarity aside, this episode made my spidey senses tingle. If I accept the show’s lore, Mimika lacks R18 functions because she relies on paternal feelings to get information from her targets. Assuming this is true, why does Mimika know so much about ecchiness? I’ll tell you why! A love bot like Mimika would be a bigger threat to national security than ones that look like Makina and Alma. Resign yourself to this fact. Until our species walks into extinction, it will unfortunately be part of life.

When it comes to the animation quality, Studio BloomZ has, for the most part, kept me content. But despite their track record, some expressions and movements were slightly off in this episode. Most ecchi shows don’t have the budget to produce Jobless Reincarnation-level animation, but this was particularly evident in this episode.

Regardless, I’m so invested in Makina-san a Love Bot?! I’m jumping into the manga the moment this show ends. That’s the biggest compliment I can give a show. I’ve watched close to 1,000 anime. Less than 20 of those inspired me to pick up the manga.

The show’s producers have yet to release the full episode count for this show, but we can assume it’s 12 or 13. Either way, as far as the anime adaptation of Makina-san a Love Bot?! is concerned, the potential for a more interesting plot is gone.

Is There Hope for the Makina-san a Love Bot?! Manga to Be Released in English?

Someone once asked me why I always mention the source material’s status in anime recommendations and reviews. The answer is twofold: a manga or light novel’s status indicates whether another anime season is possible. It also lets you know if you can indulge in the whole story if it is complete. Fans know if a show might get another season if a reviewer notes that the source material is ongoing. However, that doesn’t promise a follow-up season.

The Makina-san a Love Bot?! is ongoing. Can it get an official English translation? I wouldn’t hold my breath. There are plenty of more successful anime without an official translation.
