After what has felt like ages and ages, the Fate/stay night: Heaven’s Feel movie trilogy is finally coming to a close. The ambitious theatrical adaptation of the most iconic route of one of the most iconic visual novel stories in history was announced by Ufotable back in July of 2014. After an incredibly lengthy delay, though, the film was revealed to be split into a trilogy of theatrical releases back in March 2016, with the first film arriving in Japan over a year later on October 14th, 2017. Aniplex has close ties with America, meaning that North American screenings of the films weren’t too far behind. Now, history repeats itself for the third film in the trilogy, Fate/stay night: Heaven’s Feel III. spring song, as it has been revealed that fans in the U.S. will be able to catch the film on the big-screen just a few months after it debuts in Japan.

Fate/stay night: Heaven’s Feel III. spring song is the highly anticipated follow-up to the first two films in the Heaven’s Feel Trilogy produced by Ufotable, Fate/stay night: Heaven’s Feel I. presage flower and Fate/stay night: Heaven’s Feel II. lost butterfly. To celebrate, the first two films will be screened as a special double feature in the U.S. on April 23rd at 7:00 p.m. local time. While this is not the first time these films have been screened stateside, this special double feature will contain brand new, exclusive Japanese cast videos.

As for the third film, Fate/stay night: Heaven’s Feel III. spring song is set to premiere in Japan on March 28th. The North American debut of the theatrical anime will arrive soon after, with the movie screening across America on May 7th at 7:30 p.m. local time. This screening will also have exclusive Japanese cast videos attached to it, as well as special footage from the Japanese premiere of the film. Tickets for both of these theatrical events will go on sale on April 3rd. For fans in Los Angeles, a special North American premiere event will be held for Fate/stay night: Heaven’s Feel III. spring song by Aniplex of America at The Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles on April 17th.

Fate Stay Night Heaven's Feel Key Visual

Aniplex of America describes the story of Fate/stay night: Heaven’s Feel III. spring song as follows:

“I’m determined to become a hero of justice for Sakura.” To save the girl…to enact the justice he’s chosen…

The young man will no longer turn a blind eye to the truth.

Mages (Masters) and Heroic Spirits (Servants) work together in the battles of the Holy Grail War…a fight for an omnipotent wish-granting container called the Holy Grail.

However, this war has become horribly twisted.

A young woman named Sakura Matou, with the sins she has committed, drowns in the murky darkness.

A young man named Shirou Emiya, who vowed to protect Sakura, works together with Rin Tohsaka and throws himself into the raging battle to put a stop to the Holy Grail War.

Illyasviel von Einzbern, as one of the few who knows the truth behind the conflict, confronts her own fate, while Zouken Matou uses Sakura to try to fulfill his own desires.

Will the young man’s wish reach her even as he challenges fate itself, battling against the rising tide?

The Holy Grail War is coming to an end…

The final battle is about to begin.

Like the previous two films in the series, Fate/stay night: Heaven’s Feel III. spring song is produced by anime studio Ufotable. Tomonori Sudo, who previously worked on Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works and Fate/Zero, is directing the film. Yuki Kajiura is the composer for the film, having previously served as the theme song composer for Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works and the music and theme composer for Fate/Zero. Takahiro Miura is working on storyboards for the film, while musician Aimer is performing the new theme song “Haru wa Yuku.”
