Konami Animation is adding a new card to its deck with this anime. Its work on Nia Liston: The Merciless Maiden (Kyouran Reijou Nia Liston: Byoujaku Reijou ni Tensei shita Kamigoroshi no Bujin no Karei Naru Musouroku) suggests ongoing work outside of IPs Konami owns, because the animation studio has only ever produced the Yu-Gi-Oh! series.

Nia Liston: The Merciless Maiden News, Cast, Staff
A fallen maniacal hero will rise on October 6th, 2026. Motoki Nakanishi and Haruta Segi are on hand to direct, Gigaemon Ichikawa sits as the writer, and Naoki Endo will spin those anime tunes we love so much.
The hero, her maid, and the approachable princess are as follows:
- Nia Liston — Honoka Inoue (Xiaomei from Edens Zero). A battle-driven hero who seeks a warrior’s death now inhabits Nia’s body.
- Lynokis Funk — Fuka Izumi (Utena Hiiragi/Magia Baiser from Gushing Over Magical Girls). Lynokis is Nia’s loving, doting battle-ready maid.
- Hildetora Altoir — Rina Honizumi (Pirino from That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime). Hildetora is the Altoir Kingdom’s third princess.
Konami Animation will animate the anime adaptation, which has an official website and Twitter (X) accounts promoting Nia Liston: The Merciless Maiden. You can find more information about the series and the key visuals at those sites.
Nia Liston: The Merciless Maiden Takes Magic TV by Storm
This series certainly polymerized some key genres, didn’t it? Let’s count them up: reincarnation, an adult hero’s soul in a girl’s body, combat, and magic TV. That last one is pretty rare, though.
It’s pretty funny to see this cute little girl talk about how much fun it is to beat the daylights out of opponents. I like how, despite her battle mania, she still cares about the original Nia’s friends and family. I can’t wait to see a little girl with a war hero’s power kick the tar out of much larger opponents. Tanya might have a new friend.

Nia Liston: The Merciless Maiden light novel summary:
A great hero lies undefeated on her deathbed, regretting that she never found a foe who could take her down. Umikaze Minamino released the original Nia Liston: The Merciless Maiden on the user-generated website Shosetsuka ni Naro between May 25th, 2019, and January 6th, 2021. Jishaku and Katana Canata provided the art for the light novel adaptation, which debuted on September 30th, 2022. Hobby Japan has published eleven volumes in the HJ Bunko imprint. Kabuto Kodai provided the art for the manga adaptation, which debuted on November 17th, 2022. Square Enix has published eight volumes in Manga Up!.
