Sekiro: No Defeat, Even Shadows Can Die More Than Twice
The great Kensei Isshin Ashina rose to prominence during the late Sengoku period and took a patch of land rich with divine blessings for himself and his clan. One such blessing comes from a foreign god Isshin dubs the Divine Dragon, who can offer immortality through a certain bloodline. Coupled with the Rejuvenating Waters and the Dragon’s Blessing, Isshin’s land becomes known for its almighty gifts of everlasting life. In the shadows of his land, the great shinobi Owl adopts and trains an orphan in his ways.

As Isshin’s life nears its end and the Interior Ministry mounts an offensive to roll those lands into a unified Japan, Isshin’s adopted grandson Genichiro Ashina moves to kidnap the last descendant of the Dragon’s Blessing. The grown orphan Wolf mounts a defense against Genichiro to defend Kuro in accordance with Isshin’s own desire. Wolf suffers defeat at Genichiro’s hand and must now pick up the pieces to fulfill his duty.
