We’ve had an intimate relationship with the original Steins;Gate visual novel, and now we’re cheering for the release of its reboot. Ready your pockets and clear your schedule — MAGES and Nitroplus will launch the STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT on August 20! The global release will see the acclaimed visual novel make its way to the Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC (via Steam). However, if you’re reading this from Japan, note that the Steam, PlayStation 4, and Xbox Series X/S versions are digital versions.

Reservations for the remake are already available on the Steins;Gate website. Depending on where you buy a copy (Japan customers only), you’ll get some sweet merch like tapestries, acrylic stands, clear files, and cloth posters.
STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT and Franchise Deets
MAGES and Nitroplus had previously announced that STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT will have Chinese (traditional and simplified), English, and Japanese subtitles. The remake will also feature new content and updated graphics.
MAGES and Nitroplus released the original Steins;Gate visual novel on Xbox 360 in October 2009. JAST USA released the visual novel in North America. Peter-senpai oversaw that release! Since then, the visual novel received adaptations into a manga, several OVAs, a theatrical film, and an anime adaptation from White Fox Studios. Several Steins;Gate spin-off games, such as Steins;Gate 0, are available. 5pb released the first remake, Steins;Gate Elite, in September 2018. The 2018 remake features fully animated scenes taken from the anime. It also contains additional animated content made by White Fox.
