We now have a clearer picture of our two new favorite smokers. Sasaki is an overworked and underappreciated salaryman who smokes his stress away. He copes with his terrible boss making his job that much harder by seeing the local convenience store clerk’s smile. Sasaki heads to register 2 every chance he gets to see Yamada after a long day at work. We’ll see if she catches on to his coping mechanisms when Smoking Behind the Supermarket with You (Super no Ura de Yani Suu Futari) premieres sometime in July 2026.

Smoking Behind the Supermarket with You Cast
The two kindred smokers are as follows:
- Sasaki — Takuya Sato (Caesar Anthonio Zeppeli from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure). Sasaki is an overworked salaryman who seeks refuge at the local supermarket.
- Yamada/Tayama — Seena Hoshiki (Riamu Yumemi from The Idolmaster Cinderella Girls). Yamada is a cute and popular cashier at the local supermarket Super S. She changes her name and persona whenever she gets off work.

We’ll Start Smoking Behind the Supermarket with You
Sasaki’s boss routinely works him to the bone, hurling abuse and compelling overtime whenever possible. He finds solace and rejuvenation at the local shop by visiting the cashier at register 2. Yamada is a kind and cheery girl whose smile brightens Sasaki’s mood and heals his weary soul. She has a vague idea of why Sasaki visits so often, as she’s grown accustomed to customers hitting on her.
Yamada tied up her hair and put on a leather jacket to call out to Sasaki from behind the store. She offered him a safe spot to light up a cigarette and speak of his woes. Yamada, referring to herself as Tamaya, poked fun at him for always using register 2. Sasaki confessed that seeing Yamada’s smile made him feel better. She realized that he was just a nice guy and offered him a regular spot to relax after a hard day’s work.
