Uncle’s Obsession with Cute Things Gives a Model Manager a Pugtarou-Sized Secret
Mitsutaka Oji is a 41-year-old sales-section manager for a company that designs offices and commercial spaces. His coworkers trust him as capable and dependable. His home reveals a fuller story: Pugtarou merchandise fills his rooms, surrounding Mitsutaka with his favorite dog mascot and the cute characters and objects he adores.
That split provides Uncle’s Obsession with Cute Things with a clear comic engine, placing Mitsutaka’s polished office composure against the Pugtarou enthusiasm waiting at home. A tiny mascot can send that enthusiasm into low Earth orbit. That hits home. Plenty of adult fans understand the delicate balancing act of keeping a beloved character keychain inside a respectable work bag.
The series also builds a warmer community as the ojisan (yes, the main character’s name is literally “uncle”) meets other fans, expanding the space in which he can enjoy what he loves. His oshi-katsu — fan activity devoted to a favorite character — becomes a route toward connection and confidence.
Uncle’s Obsession with Cute Things Keeps Mitsutaka’s Secret Under Pressure
That path from secrecy to connection depends on the people around Mitsutaka. The main cast includes:
- Kazuyuki Okitsu as Mitsutaka Oji, the polished manager with a private passion for cute things
- Takuya Eguchi as Kenta Kawai, a designer and fellow cute-things enthusiast
- Yuuki Kaji as Wataru Naruto, a neighboring-section manager who regards Mitsutaka as a workplace rival
- Ayumu Murase as Masumi Nii, Mitsutaka’s university-student nephew
The setup gives Uncle’s Obsession with Cute Things several ways to test Mitsutaka’s composure. Kenta fuels his enthusiasm. Wataru stirs up office friction. Masumi carries the threat of discovery into Mitsutaka’s private sanctuary. Every new relationship creates another chance for the Pugtarou collection to stage a fluffy coup.
The supporting cast includes:
- Kaori Maeda as Rio Shigeoka
- Miharu Hanai as Mirai Usuma
- Satoshi Niwa as Haruo Koba
- Mie Sonozaki as Hoho Takebayashi
One secret supporting cast remains tucked behind Mitsutaka’s Pugtarou collection — and this fluffy ensemble comes with a surprise.
Pugtarou Gets an Anime Within the Anime
The human cast keeps Mitsutaka’s secret under pressure, while Pugtarou spins that devotion into a world of its own. The mascot receives a larger role than the average character mascot. Uncle’s Obsession with Cute Things includes animated material featuring Pugtarou and his mascot, creating a miniature comic-adventure layer within the series.
Surprise! Pugtarou’s in-story anime comes with its own voice cast:
- Miyu Tomita as Pugtarou
- Fuuka Izumi as Bosskichi
- Yurie Funato as Anne
- Asami Tano as Carrie
- Hinata Satou as Greapi
Pugtarou’s animated segments let viewers experience the cuddly franchise behind Mitsutaka’s devotion, giving his secret hobby a specific, lived-in presence. The mascot’s own supporting cast turns his private fandom into a shared world. That’s fluffy corporate synergy!
Production Credits Bring the Corporate Cuteness to Life

Pugtarou’s Performance Review — Uncle’s Obsession with Cute Things promises a warm workplace comedy sharpened by its understanding of adult fandom. Mitsutaka’s private enthusiasm powers both the jokes and the emotional payoff.
