Tengobu Goblin Production for a First-Timer

The hero’s long goblin life gathers a sizable group around him, including beautiful women from other fantasy races who take an interest in the village’s rare long-lived leader. The voice cast gives each new ally a place in this expanding fantasy ensemble.

BAKKKA makes its lead-studio debut for Tengobu under director Ryuuta Kawahara. Yuuichirou Momose handles series composition and scripts, Hiroyuki Saita designs the characters, and Takenoko Boy composes the music. Sou performs the opening theme, “Hello,” while AHUB performs the ending theme, “Chiisana Bokura.”

The goblins’ bright-blue designs give the village a playful, Smurf-like first impression, as if a tiny society were hiding beyond the trees. Their seven-day lifespans soon add a darker undertone to that cheerful color scheme.

Tengobu Turns Seven Days into Generational Strategy

Akira Yagami dies while protecting a child and awakens as a goblin in another world. Local goblins live for seven days, passing their abilities to the next generation before their brief lives end. Akira receives the skill “Human 80 Years,” which grants him a human-length lifespan and lets him inherit skills from the goblins who pass before him.

That contrast is Tengobu’s strongest hook. Akira can accumulate knowledge across generations, while his neighbors complete entire lives in seven days. Every inherited skill carries somebody’s short history. The premise turns an overpowered ability into a community archive — with more swordplay than your average building permit office.

That generational framework extends into Akira’s leadership. Tengobu follows him as demons, elves, and dragons gather around the settlement he helps develop. His former life as a dependable office worker shapes a practical approach: he teaches residents how to strengthen their social position and navigate political relationships beyond the village.

Akira’s focus on shared knowledge distinguishes him from heroes who stack combat statistics. His power becomes a resource for the entire village.

Goblin fans can relax: this village has less Goblin Slayer energy and more goblin city-planning committee meetings — although the swords remain within easy reach.

Where to Watch Tengobu

Tengobu premieres in Japan on October 5, 2026, at 10:00 p.m. JST on TOKYO MX. BS11 and Sun TV begin their broadcasts later that night, while AT-X starts on October 7. Japanese streaming begins October 5, with the first episode launching alongside an advance release of Episode 2 on ABEMA and Prime Video.

Crunchyroll includes the anime in its Fall 2026 lineup for international streaming but has yet to announce its October 5 release time.
