We here at J-List provide a number of very educational and enlightening lists of lovely anime girls. We take pride in them, and you cultured otaku clearly enjoy them. It was about time to provide a list of anime teachers that definitely deserve a “Teacher of the Year” award. They go above and beyond for their students, and a number of them are willing to give “extra credit” assignments to lucky students who catch their attention.
1. Tearju Lunatique (To LOVE-Ru)
Truly, To LOVE-Ru has a lot of quality anime girl archetypes. Genderswap girls, mothers, tsunderes, and even girls with pink hair power. It was about time we got to the anime teacher.
Tearju is an overly-qualified homeroom teacher at Sainan High School. She learned biotechnology on another planet entirely, and has created at least two clones with special abilities: Yami and Mea. Despite her superhuman intelligence, she is perceived as a bit of a klutz, especially around Rito Yuki, the luckiest being in the universe. Tearju ranks as a possible candidate for the Harem Plan. This is fortunate for Rito, because she has the largest bust in the series.
Saki Hasemi wrote, and Kentaro Yabuki illustrated Lala’s harem plan from April 24th, 2006 to March 4th, 2017. Shueisha published the series in 36 volumes in Weekly Shonen Jump.
If you want to bring home the busty anime teacher, the J-List shop can help. The Tearju Lunatique 1/4 Figure Swimsuit ver. from the To Love-ru Darkness section is available for pre-order.
2. Hinako Ninomiya (Ranma ½)
Hinako is a deceptively powerful and efficient teacher at Furinkan High School. She initially appears as a weak young girl, especially when Ranma accidentally knocks her out by leaping off of her head. In reality, Hinako is Happosai’s former student. She is able to use yen coins to draw in the battle aura of her opponents, allowing her to take her true adult form. Hinako is granted increased physical prowess, which she uses to punish naughty students. We unfortunately never saw girl Ranma fight Hinako.
The legendary mangaka Rumiko Takahashi created her genderbending series between August 19th, 1987 and March 6th, 1996. Shogakukan published all 35 volumes in the Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine.
3. Mizuho Kazami (Please Teacher!)
Mizuho proves that even aliens can be teachers. Well, she’s only half human. Mizuho was sent to Earth to observe humanity. At 23-years old, she’s the youngest member of the Galactic Federation Observers ever to gain a license. Though she had planned to pose as a teacher to remain undiscovered, Kei Kusanagi saw her landing and discovered her secret. This unplanned meeting led teacher and student to become quite close.
Mizuho’s romance with a student was directed by Yasunori Ide, written by Yosuke Kuroda, and produced by Bandai Visual. All twelve episodes were aired from January 10th, 2002 to March 28th, 2002.
4. Ririko Kagome (Rosario + Vampire)
Ririko is a math teacher at Yokai Academy. She uses her lamia abilities to give her students extra lessons after school. As much fun as that sounds, and Ririko does dress down into a BDSM suit, her lessons aren’t that exciting. She uses her telepathic abilities to impart her knowledge directly into a student’s mind, which is reportedly painful.
Akihisa Ikeda wrote and illustrated this series between April 6th, 2004 and September 22nd, 2007. Shueisha published all ten volumes in Jump Comics.
5. Shizuka Hiratsuka (My Youth Romantic Comedy Is Wrong, As I Expected / Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Come wa Machigatteiru)
Shizuka is the Modern Japanese and homeroom teacher at Sobu High School. She is also a guidance counselor and the adviser for the Service Club. Though she is known for being a kind and helpful teacher who is dedicated to her students, she is also short-tempered and sensitive to personal topics, such as her age. That this beautiful and amazing teacher is single is a crime, especially in a romantic comedy series.
The original light novel series was written by Wataru Watari and illustrated by Ponkan8 from March 18th, 2011 to April 20th, 2021. Shogakukan published all fourteen volumes, and four short story collections, in Gagaga Bunko.
6. Sakie Sato (Interviews with Monster Girls / Demi-chan wa Kataritai)
Sakie is a math teacher at Shibasaki High School. She is also a succubus. Despite her race’s reputation for being confident and sexual, Sakie is shy and reserved. She is wary of her aphrodisiac effect on the men around her. The only one who can resist her supernatural charms to some extent is Tetsuo Takahashi, and they’re currently dating.
Interested cultured readers can see more of Sakie in a swimsuit in Joe’s review of Episode 12.
Petos wrote and illustrated this series between September 5th, 2014 and December 19th, 2022. Kodansha published all eleven volumes in Young Magazine the 3rd and Monthly Young Magazine.
7. Nemuri Kayama / Midnight (My Hero Academia)
Midnight is one of those thicc anime teachers who can outshine even thicc bunny girls. Despite her intentionally lewd attire, she is still a Modern Hero Art History at U.A. High School. Midnight is a highly competent and brave hero and teacher who will give anything to ensure her student’s success and safety.
Kohei Horikoshi began writing and drawing his heroic series on July 7th, 2014. Shueisha has so far published 38 volumes in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine.
8. Aiho Yomikawa (A Certain Magical Index / Toaru Majutsu no Index)
Aiho is a stand-out anime teacher even among samurai and overpowered girls. She is a P.E. teacher at A Certain High School. Despite her official job, Aiho is also a highly-trained member of Anti-Skill. She greatly cares for her students, and would never bring harm to any child. She is the current legal guardian of Accelerator, Last Order, and Misaka Worst.
Written by Kazuma Kamachi and illustrated by Kiyotaka Haimura, this series aired from April 10th, 2004 to October 10th, 2010. ASCII Media Works published a total of 22 volumes in Dengeki Bunko.
9. Rossweisse (High School DxD)
Rossweisse stands out in a universe where many women are incredibly thicc, from fiery redheads to maids. She is a former Valkyrie who guarded Odin himself. Nowadays, she is the Civics teacher at Kuoh Academy and Class 3-B’s homeroom teacher. Rossweisse is also Issei Hyoudou’s first Rook, and is one of his numerous fiancées. He’s one of the few harem protagonists who made all the correct decisions.
Ichiei Ishibumi and Miyama-Zero worked on the original light novel from September 20th, 2008, to March 20th, 2018. Fujimi Shobo published all 25 volumes and four short stories in Dragon Magazine.
10. Irina Jelavić (Assassination Classroom)
Irina Jelavić, a truly thicc anime teacher, is the famous Bitch-sensei who acts as the English teacher of Class 3-E. She was sent to Kunugigaoka Junior High School to assassinate Korosensei. Despite this mission, she genuinely connects with her students and works hard for their benefit. She’s one of the anime teachers that are as beautiful as they are intelligent.
Yusei Matsui wrote and illustrated the original manga series from July 2nd, 2012 to March 25th, 2016. Shueisha published all 21 volumes in Jump Comics.
11. Shura Kirigakure (Blue Exorcist)
Shura is another teacher who doesn’t quite look the part. She drinks a lot, and she dresses in some very lewd clothing. Despite this, she is an incredibly powerful and intelligent Exorcist. Joe covered this in his reviews for Episode 3 and Episode 4. There are plenty of very intriguing GIFs in those reviews.
Officially, Shura is an inspector in service to the Vatican. However, she has infiltrated True Cross Academy and works as a teacher for the Exwires. She is carefree, laid back, and unafraid of being blunt even with her superiors. Shura’s primary student is Rin, a son of Satan.
Kazue Kato began to create his fiery series on April 4th, 2009. Shueisha has since published 29 volumes in Jump Comics SQ.
12. Yukari Tanizaki (Azumanga Daioh)
Yukari is, depending on the day or time, a loving teacher, or a tyrant ready to knock some sense into her students. She acts more like a smart big sister than a teacher, and her students love her for it. Yukari is the cast’s English teacher, a fact she takes pride in. She is a terrible driver, as indicated by her dented Yukari-mobile. Only Tomo is up for a ride with her. She’s one of the fun anime teachers.
Kiyohiko Azuma created the original manga series between February 1999 and May 2002. MediaWorks released all four volumes in Dengeki Daioh.
