Skip and Loafer is shaping up to be a school life anime that some viewers might be able to relate to. There’s no magic, monsters, robots, or any isekai elements. The realistic series follows a girl moving from the countryside who is textbook smart but still learning how she should deal with social situations.
The series is set to premiere on April 4th, so P.A. Works put this trailer together to hype people up before then.

A Normal School Life
Inside a sea of school life anime series in which magical and mysterious things happen, Skip and Loafer sticks to what is normal for an everyday high school student. The series follows Iwakura Mitsumi, a prodigy who graduated from a small middle school in the countryside, the Ishikawa Prefecture. She moved to Tokyo alone to attend a high school with a life plan firmly in mind. She set ambitious goals for herself and felt confident in her intellect to see her succeed at every step. Her parents tend to focus on Iwakura having fun and making friends, but she has paid little mind to these aspects of her school life.
Though she is the perfect student, and her intellect is beyond reproach, her social cues aren’t great, and she makes silly mistakes. However, her kind and easygoing nature win people over, and she slowly makes friends. Her first meeting with a future classmate was when she became lost, and her fear of people made her lean against the wall in dismay. Sousuke Shima saw past her expression, smiled, and offered her help.
Skip and Loafer Origins
Skip and Loafer first attended class as a manga series written and illustrated by Misaki Takamatsu. Kodansha began publishing the series on August 25th, 2018, and there are currently eight volumes available for fans to purchase and read.
