Episode 8 — “Otherworldly Beings and Super Spicy Poses”
Plus-Sized Elf Makes Me Go Heh.
I’ve speculated all season about how Oku, the Orc, should have a connection to Akiho Ino, the owner of the Smiley Boar clinic. How many links does Plus-Sized Elf create between the characters? Orcs are hog-type monsters in the parallel world, and Ino’s name uses the kanji for “wild boar” (猪, inoshishi). The “shi-shi-shi” sound is how the Japanese language depicts laughing inappropriately, from the word 失笑 (しっしょう, shisshou — scornful laughter, snicker), so that’s where the “smiley” part of the clinic’s name comes from.
But, the best proof that Oku and Akiho should have some bond, and why we should doubly forgive Naoe for mistaking Oku for his boss, is that they share the same voice actress. Aya Uchida (Theodora from Shin no Nakama) has not yet played both characters in the same scene. Make it happen, Plus-Sized Elf!
Hot Yoga Pants, Sweat, and Heavy Breathing
Ooh. Akiho wears sexy yoga gear. Oh? Plus-Sized Elf won’t show us how Oga and Hitome’s fight ended. Instead, everyone will try hot yoga. Is this the first time all the monster girls have been in the same place at once? Where’s Gonda, the dragon lady? I wager that Satero’s innocent mind couldn’t handle the tight clothing and lewd poses. Kobo resignedly lets Oga cuddle and cradle her now. Naoe explains he turned up the heat for this new exercise he wants them to do. Oga knows what heat means! It’s a sauna! Everyone, strip! Wrong! Put your clothes back on! I love the little sticker versions of the monster girls covering their lower selves. Honeda didn’t dress any differently, though. And Raika stayed in her lupine form. Hoho. Naked elven bickering.
Plus-Sized Elf continues after everyone puts their yoga outfits on. Naoe explains how high heat and humidity increase the body’s metabolism as it burns more calories to regulate body temperature. So, it’s like a sauna, but not as hot. Okay, Oga? Hee-hee! Does Raika sitting up count as doggy-style “cross-legged” sitting?
Let’s listen to stereotypical Hindu meditation music. Yoga poses are beneficial for strength resistance training, breath control, building core strength, posture, and flexibility. Straightening your pelvis makes your gut bulge less noticeable, Elfuda. Kuroeda presses her hips flat to the floor. Uh, can I help her? Funny monster girl jokes from Plus-Sized Elf — Kusahanada hydrates by watering her flower. The Chair Pose helps cyclists rehab their thighs for a downward pedal stroke. Har. Of course, we would see Raika do the Downward Dog. She’s not a dog! The Tree Pose practices balance and builds symmetrical ankle strength.
Hot Yoga Makes Blood Boil in Plus-Sized Elf
Uh oh. Satero showed up! Can her virgin eyes handle the suggestive poses in yoga? Is an ahegao face necessary, Oku? Kuroeda is ready for that “mating press” hashtag. Are there enough monster girl poses to collect illustrations for a Plus-Sized Elf Kama Sutra? Oops. Satero refuses to watch “soaked” monster girls pose for that pervy human. She has the dirtiest mind in the show (befitting her species) but can’t admit it to herself. Satero’s poor, innocent psyche (as she wears a naked apron)! Oh, there’s Gonda. Will she join the others?
Hot yoga elf bickering. Hahaha! The Happy Baby Pose is perfect for the mating press technique. And it turned Oga’s MILF mind to mush! Uh oh. Hitome and Oga became competitive over motherly instincts. Plus-Sized Elf brought cross-species rivalries into the peaceful yoga studio. Back to boxing! Kobo wants no part of this pointless competition. The cyclops and ogre have a literal slap fight! It’s Sumo instead of yoga! Cross-Species CrossFit looks like a bad idea.
Dragon Tail Ends Plus-Sized Elf Spicy Yoga
The loud squabbling fails to affect Honeda’s concentration. Aha. Gonda did join them because she heard the Dragon Slenderer’s voice. Kuroeda and Elfuda have met Gonda before, but the other monster girls have never met a dragon. Eh? Why did Naoe faint? Plus-Sized Elf called back to his fear of reptiles and the last time he saw Gonda’s thicc tail.
Huh. The end credits haven’t changed yet. It put in all the girls instead! I’m still waiting for Akiho.
