These Anime Girls Wear Bikini Tops Even When It’s Not Summer!

Summer has begun! It’s unbearably hot outside, but cultured otaku can better appreciate even hotter anime girls. Summer is a time for cute girls to wear revealing bikinis. Anime and manga have cute girls who wear bikini tops, even outside of the summer months. These girls know they’re great, and they have no fear of showing it off. Let’s look at the nominees for Best Supported Actresses. (We didn’t say supporting!)

1. Ralma (Party kara Tsuiho Sareta Sono Chiyushi, Jitsu wa Saikyo ni Tsuki)

This nominee is a legendary adventurer! Ralma is a World-Class Adventurer, meaning she’s among the most powerful warriors. Her power, intellect, and no-nonsense attitude fit nicely with her perfect bikini top. Ralma also trained Raust to be a DPS/Healer, but he doesn’t seem “hot for teacher.” As such, he’s still a failure. Even if her wardrobe didn’t meet the guild’s standards, who should tell her to cover herself? There would be a revolt. Let’s hope she’s just as animated as Shura when the anime adaptation premieres.

Kagekinoko posted the original Party kara Tsuiho Sareta Sono Chiyushi, Jitsu wa Saikyo ni Tsuki novel to Shosetsuka ni Naro on May 30th, 2018. Futabasha obtained the publishing rights and hired the artist Kakao Lanthanum to adapt the series to a light novel format. This new run began on January 30th, 2019, in the M Novels imprint. Four volumes have been published thus far.

2. Shura Kirigakure (Blue Exorcist)

This nominee is a fun teacher! Shura is another teacher who shows her best side in a bikini top. Her drinking and lewd attire don’t fit her teaching profession, but none of her students are going to complain. However, she’s still an enormously powerful Exorcist. Joe covered teaching methods in his reviews for Episode 3 and Episode 4.

Kazue Kato began to create his fiery series on April 4th, 2009. Shueisha has since published 29 volumes in Jump Comics SQ.

3. Nami (One Piece)

This nominee is a world-class pirate and thief! Nami is a pirate who spends most of her time on a ship, so her choice of bikini top is understandable. Her top-heavy top never gets in the way during battle, so there’s no problem here. One Piece is famous for its sexy waifus, and Nami is undeniably a top-tier Best Girl.

Eiichiro Oda began writing and drawing this series on July 22nd, 1997. Shueisha has published 106 volumes thus far.

4. Lum (Urusei Yatsura)

This nominee is a lovely alien girl! That tiger-print bikini top is famous among even casual otaku. Lum is an alien from a planet where bikinis like hers are only regular clothes. She keeps them even after learning how Earth perceives bikinis. And we thank her for it.

The legendary mangaka Rumiko Takahashi created the original manga series Urusei Yatsura between September 24th, 1978, and February 4th, 1987. Shogakukan published all 34 volumes in Weekly Shonen Sunday.

5. Naga the Serpent (Slayers)

This nominee is a royal sorceress! Naga is one of the best royal girls in anime. She left home, traded her dress for a bikini top, and became a smug sorceress who fights evil. Naga wields light, dark, and shaman magic, which makes her a fitting rival for Lina, the overpowered mage with red hair.

Hajime Kanzaka and Rui Araizumi began working on Lina’s story in 1989. Fujimi Shobo has published seventeen volumes in Dragon Magazine.

6. Fighter (Bikini Warriors)

This nominee is a warrior with yuri tendencies! Bikini armor is very much a thing in anime and manga. But the titular bikini warriors like Dark Elf ignore all that and wear normal bikinis. This works out for everyone involved because many lilies have been planted in this series, and many girls enjoy their uniforms. More explicitly, Fighter has gotten affectionately close to her companions, especially Paladin. Outside of the party, Valkyrie and Hunter have also become quite close.

Bikini Warriors, based on a series of fantasy figures created by Hobby Japan, much like Queen’s Blade, ran from July 8th, 2015, to July 27th, 2018, which consists of twelve episodes and six OVAs. Studios Feel and PRA saw what Agent Aika did and said, “Hold my sake!”

So, who wins for Best Supported Actress? I cast my vote for Nami. She lives in a watery world and is always dressed to get wet.
