Yowayowa Sensei, Episode 8 — Sticky Tan Lines Feel the Burn!

Mizuki calls Akihito by his old nickname, and Hiyori-sensei gets extra help during summer vacation.

Lesson 8 — “A Weak and Wimpy Photography Training Camp (2)”

I often wonder: which came first, the hentai scenario or the anime one? That’s like the classic philosophical debate about the chicken or the egg coming first. But I’ve seen ecchi scenes in visual novels become material for anime self-referential humor. Are the anime producers nodding and winking to their cultured audience? Or did those classic scenes inspire hentai doujin artists and game writers to push their characters into X-rated activities? Let’s examine a few scenes in Yowayowa Sensei to see which ones made otakus come first!

Yowayowa Sensei is an ecchi anime adapted from its ecchi manga. We also know many illustrators start their careers as hentai artists and doujin creators for Comiket and other conventions. So, surprises have been few this season when we see Hiyori-sensei’s dojikko–moe quirk land her in compromising situations that resemble sex scenes containing popular fetishes. It’s humor targeting a subset of ardent fans who love beautiful women in states of desire and arousal! At least those blushing faces and flushed body parts look like they’re about to get down on someone who got it up! Yowayowa Sensei, Episode 8 has three scenes we can judge and discuss.

Did those kinds of scenes originate in the adult section of the otaku specialty shop? Or have ecchi anime comedies referenced them for so long that we can’t even tell anymore? Let’s take a look!

Yowayowa Sensei, a Wet Bus Stop, and a Wetter Busty Maiden

This week’s episode presented the traditional ecchi scenario of lovers under a rural bus stop in the rain. The forced intimacy, the expectation of privacy, and the thrill of public indecency and exhibitionism all collide under a roof, noisy from a sudden summer shower. The setting for Mizuki and Akihito’s reconciliation as childhood friends included all those prerequisites for a heartfelt conversation, mashed with toplessness and the fear of strangers catching them doing naughty things. However, taking shelter from the weather under a public building has been a staple of romance, drama, and comedies across all media formats. I judge this Yowayowa Sensei scene as not a hentai reference.

You Can Put Band-Aids Where?

Please let me know if you’ve seen this phenomenon elsewhere, but the first time I saw Band-Aids as pasties for private parts was in Japanese art. Much like tentacle-hentai, the use of adhesive bandages in this sexy manner appears to be specific to Japan. What a creative way to see Hiyori-sensei as a tanned waifu with tan lines! However, getting Akihito hooked on his crush’s slightly sour scent? That’s hentai! The young man picked up a new fetish switch to flip. His summer vacation has been racking up Ws since the beginning!

Yowayowa Sensei Makes Me Say Heh.

Picking up from the last episode’s cliffhanger, what does Mizuki mean when she says that she “likes” Akihito? Hah! Her friends Maimai and Momopi noticed Mizuki acting like a kindergartener, being mean to the girl he’s sweet on. Mizuki recounted how she ended up in a tree with her shirt ripped. All right! Let’s see how Yowayowa Sensei handles the classic summer h-doujin scenario of waiting for a rain shower to stop while soaking wet under a rural bus stop roof. Uh oh. What hentai hijinks can Akihito get up to with bystanders in the same small space? Plenty! They’re not inside a crowded bus hiding Mizuki’s melons, but the bus stop corner is good enough.

Okay. Clearing the air about how Akihito and Mizuki crossed signals when he moved away during elementary school and reconnected in high school is solid character development. Although doing that with bare boobs in your chest, with the hint of danger from public exhibitionism? Chef’s kiss. Yowayowa Sensei threaded that needle! Mizuki went biblical in “rending” her garments. Akihito wrote her a note and left it in her desk, but the muscle-brained girl often lost paperwork in there. Yes, the best apology is mashing Mizuki’s melons into his chest. Apology accepted? No confirmation needed because Mizuki steamrolled straight to her request, calling him by his childhood nickname “Ak-kun.” Mizuki is naked, chest to chest, so how could he refuse?

Hey look! Symbolism! The rain shower let up after Mizuki and “Ak-kun” reconciled. And Hiyori-sensei arrives for more dojikko-moe-lucky-sukebe antics. Akihito has long arms to catch Mizuki’s breast and “Hiyorin’s” butt. Hiyori-sensei can celebrate her students’ reconnection by flashing her pink G-string! Well. It’s a celebration for me!

Oh, right. The group is a photography club. Can Hiyori-sensei help Akihito choose his best picture? Ah. The time for a misunderstanding leading to a deeper emotional bond has arrived. Hiyori-sensei admires Akihito for being above average at most things. But he claims he’s merely a jack-of-all-trades without motivation. Aw. It’s a mutual admiration confession. Yowayowa Sensei is an ecchi comedy, so we can’t have an endearing scene like this last too long. Blow it up with fireworks! Whoa, whoa, whoa! Who hides their face by pulling up their skirt? Hiyori-sensei isn’t a preschool girl. Oho! The joke setup lands its delivery. The weak and wimpy teacher lost her pink, loose G-string, which is why she apologized to Akemi! Too weak to tie tight knots!

Akihito recalls the photography club’s “training camp” through his printed pictures. Uh oh! Trouble! Hiyori-sensei needs help! Uh oh… She’s sunburned. When did that happen? Those tan lines belong to her bikini, not her sundress. Aw. Hiyori-sensei’s sunburn hurts too much, so she can’t even move around or take care of herself. Yay! Akihito’s cooking skills come in clutch. Har. She wants Akihito to feed her! And to bathe her! It’s totally fine. She covered her lady bits with Band-Aids! Yowayowa Sensei also confirmed that Hiyori-sensei opts for the smooth shave. Armpit fans, rejoice! Oho. Her scent woke an aroma fetish in Akihito!

Ah. As soon as Hiyori-sensei regained her senses, she felt embarrassed and started a dojikko-moe scene! There goes one Band-Aid pastie. Of course. Of course!
