Wouldn’t you love to have a kyuuto work senpai who doesn’t respect your personal space and loves drinking? If you answered yes, ganbare! (I suppose). There’s nothing I can do to help you achieve that scenario. But if you’re okay with living vicariously through anime, then you’ll be elated to hear that Enma Akiyama’s Noa-senpai wa Tomodachi is getting an anime! And the most saccharine part of this is that Studio Feel (feel.) is animating the adaptation. That’s the same studio that brought us ecchi classics like Kiss x Sis, Mayo Chiki, and So, I Can’t Play H!
While the production team behind Noa-senpai wa Tomodachi hasn’t announced the anime’s premiere date, they’ve released a visual. They’ve also released some information on the anime’s production staff.
Shinsuke Yanagi, the dude who directed one of my favorite anime, NetoYome, will direct Noa-senpai wa Tomodachi. Additional production staff include:
- Keiichirou Oouchi (Girlfriend, Girlfriend and The Quintessential Quintuplets) — Series Composition
- Yumiko Yamamoto (Genjitsu no Yohane: Sunshine in the Mirror) — Character Design

Noa-senpai wa Tomodachi Synopsis and Manga Deets
Like most 20~35-year-olds with an IQ over 5, Rihito Outuska is disillusioned by life’s demands. For Rihito, chasing promotions, ambitions, consumerism, and romance are dirty concepts. But that doesn’t mean Rihito doesn’t respect people who work towards those things. He actually admires his senior at work, Noa Saotome. How could he not? She’s everything he’s not — bubbly, professional, social, and positive. But when Rihito sees Noa loudly drowning her sorrows in sake, the distance between them vanishes.
Enma Akiyama writes and illustrates the Noa-senpai wa Tomodachi (Noa Is My Senior, and My Friend) manga. Weekly Young Jump (Shueisha) has serialised the manga since July 2023. Shueisha has since released eleven tankobon volumes of the series and a promotional video. The PV featured Mayu Yoshioka and Kengo Kawanishi as Noa and Rihito.
