The first trailer for I’m Dating a Dark Summoner is on YouTube, and my excitement is mixed. Every time Deregula (WWWave Corporation) attaches itself to an adaptation, there’s always unease. I know it’s uncensored, but what will the production be like? Will it be more than ecchi fodder that’s only a few minutes long? It’s always a gamble. Here, AtoriE and Nyan Pollution-ω-’s artwork is crisp and attractive, and we’re definitely getting lewdness. But the movements seem slightly off.

I’m Dating a Dark Summoner — Manga Details and Synopsis

There’s always someone we can’t imagine getting along with. For the holy priest Roni, that’s the newest member of his party, Amona. Sure, Amona is a skilled adventurer, but she’s the wrong kind of adventurer. She’s a dark summoner who uses demons! That’s the kind of adventurer that people tell their kids to avoid! Naturally, dark summoners also have an unfavorable view of priests, clerics, and anything holy. Naturally, the two argue like Argentinians and Brits, or the Irish and Brits, or the Brits and other Brits.

But there’s a slight issue — they find each other attractive. And because of that attraction, their belligerence quickly evolves to “plap plap plap” and ahegaos.

Shaoh writes and illustrates I’m Dating a Dark Summoner. Dra Dra Sharp, Kadocomi, and Niconico serialize the manga. Kadokawa has published seven volumes of I’m Dating a Dark Summoner since the manga’s 2021 debut.
