My Hero Ultra Rumble Public Beta Begins May 25th

Bandai Namco has announced the public will finally get a chance to play the excellent My Hero Ultra Rumble next week. Starting May 25th, fans on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 can hop in with eight teams of three players to fight for the top spot. I got an invitation to the My Hero Ultra Rumble closed beta test last year and had a great time. Check out my article here for impressions and how the game works.

Also, Bandai Namco revealed several recent additions to My Hero Ultra Rumble including new characters and mechanics. Three members of UA High School currently join the roster, Tenya Iida, Denki Kaminari, and Itsuka Kendo. Here’s hoping we get other favorites like Gentle and La Brava, Twice, and Overhaul. In addition to these new characters, Bandai Namco is introducing some welcome changes. First, they have enabled the revival of completely eliminated players, creating an incentive to work together and stay close to your team. Second, they are introducing Plus Ultra mechanics that enable teams to strategically plan and turn the tides of battle in their favor. Watch the trailer below to see these changes in action.

Although My Hero Ultra Rumble is currently available to download, you won’t be able to access it until the given times. Those times are May 25th, 7:00 p.m. to May 26th, 3:00 a.m. PDT and May 26th, 7:00 p.m. to June 1st, 11:00 p.m. PDT. Fans of the My Hero Academia franchise and the battle royale genre should give My Hero Ultra Rumble a shot. Overall, I’m very excited to get another chance to play and hope to see you out there!

Big fan of My Hero Academia? Please take a look at some of our gorgeous figures. For example, I love the detail in this Shoto figure. It’s a perfect addition to any fan’s collection!
