The second season of Medaka Kuroiwa Is Impervious to My Charms is on its way. No one knows when it’s going to get here, but at least we got a new trailer and visual to help hold out until the kawaii Mona returns. The anime’s production company also announced that director Yoshiaki Okumura will return as the rom-com’s director. Medaka Kuroiwa Is Impervious to My Charms — Deets
Ran Kuze writes and illustrates the Kuroiwa Medaka ni Watashi no Kawaii ga Tsuujinai manga. It was originally published as a one-shot in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine in December 2020. Luckily for Kuze-sensei, people read it and went, “This is some SSR-level shyet,” and that impressed Kodansha. Due to its reception, Weekly Shonen Magazine began serializing the manga in May 2026. Since then, Kodansha has compiled it into 24 volumes. Kodansha USA releases both the digital and print versions of the English manga.
Medaka Kuroiwa Is Impervious to My Charms follows the high school duo of Medaka Kuroiwa and Mona Kawai. Medaka is a man who believes in the phrase “I want to be happy, not horny,” so he devotes his life to becoming a monk. While most people would think that a life plan is admirable, his school’s “Queen Bee” has none of it. She wants his attention and wants him to fawn over her. However, Medaka wants to avoid horny behavior, so he ignores her. That leads Mona to harass and accost him for his attention. And somehow, that leads to love.
