Do you remember how moving A Silent Voice was? The depiction of disabilities and how they shape us was so eloquent. But that’s something that we don’t see often. Thankfully, anyone who’s been wishing for a worthy successor will soon have that wish granted. The anime adaptation of Love Unseen Beneath the Clear Night Sky premieres on July 6! And the anime’s production team has released a trailer ahead of that premiere. The newly released trailer debuted the anime’s ending song, “Hikari” by Yui Sakurai of FRUITS ZIPPER.

The award-winning composer, Harumi Fuuki, will compose the anime’s music. Studio Makaria, known for Zatsu Tabi: That’s Journey, will animate the adaptation. And in a truly GOATed move, the studio will release a “barrier-free” version with audio description for the blind and visually impaired.
Love Unseen Beneath the Clear Night Sky Deets and Synopsis
The upcoming anime adapts the Toumei na Yoru ni Kakeru Kimi to, Me ni Mienai Koi wo Shita novel by Nanigashi Shima (author) and raemz (illustrator). SB Creative’s GA Bunko released the novel in August 2023. The following year, the author published a sequel light novel, Gokusai no Yoru ni Kakeru Kimi to, Me ni Mienai Koi wo Shita (Love Unseen Beneath a Colorful Night Sky).
Nanigashi and raemz later released two related light novels: Yoru ga Aketara Asa ga Kuru (2024) and Asa ga Kuru Made Yoru wa Matsu (2025). Yen Press releases the series in English. Square Enix’s Manga Up! releases Hat’s manga adaptation of to Love Unseen Beneath the Clear Night Sky.
Love Beneath the Clear Night Sky follows the friendship and romance of Kakeru Mano and Koharu Fuyutsuki. When others drag the Bocchi-like Kakeru to a university’s welcome party, like most introverts, his night is in ruins. At least that was what he thought, because there he met the stunningly attractive and outgoing Koharu, and she instantly captivated him. However, while Koharu stole his gaze, he couldn’t steal hers. Koharu is blind. Yet despite what most people would consider a hurdle, Kakeru does all he can to befriend Koharu and help her achieve her dream of launching and seeing fireworks.

- Youhei Azakami (Gyro in Steel Ball Run: JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken) as Ushio Narumi
- Konomi Kohara (Chika in Love is War) as Yuuko Hayase
Storyboard and Tohokushinsha Film adapted the Love Unseen Beneath the Clear Night Sky into a TV drama. The series aired in Japan on MBS from December to February 2026.
On a related note, the artist raemz also illustrated the Even a Replica Can Fall in Love light novel. The adaptation of that is currently airing on Crunchyroll, and I can feel the incoming heartbreak.
