A rookie mangaka released her first book to some success. However, she enjoyed only brief success before publishers rejected her subsequent works. Her editor suggested that she take time off and travel. She might find inspiration while visiting ancient shrines and delicious restaurants. We’ll see where she ends up after Zatsu Tabi That’s Journey premieres sometime in April 2025.
Kenta Ishizaka released the original Zatsu Tabi That’s Journey manga series on March 27th, 2019. ASCII Media Works has since published twelve volumes in Dengeki Maoh.

Three of our travelers are as follows:
- Chika Suzugamori — Hika Tsukishiro (Ordinary Person (ep 41) from Jujutsu Kaisen). Chika is an award-winning mangaka who needs a change of scenery.
- Koyomi Hasunuma — Sayumi Suzushiro (Nijika Ijichi from Bocchi the Rock!). Chika’s best friend. She loves the outdoors.
- Yui Unoki — Sae Hiratsuka (Mitsuki Hoshikawa from Himitsu no AiPri). Chika and Koyomi’s junior. She explains the historical and cultural aspects of the places they visit during their trips.
Makaria maintains a home page and a Twitter (X) page to promote Zatsu Tabi That’s Journey. You can find additional series information and the Key Visuals there. Here are our travelers.

Go Out and See the World — Zatsu Tabi That’s Journey
Chika Suzugamori is an award-winning mangaka. Well — she won one award and ¥100,000 ($643.07) prize money. It seems like she finally achieved her dream. However, her follow-up pitches were all rejected. The editor suggested that she add something personal to her work. Nothing came to mind because she has a single-minded fixation on manga. Chika’s rejection led her to post on social media asking her followers which direction she should travel from Tokyo.

Thirty percent of three thousand voters suggested that Chika should travel to the north. She chose Aizuwakamatsu in Fukushima Prefecture at random and set off. This will be just her first journey abroad. With ¥100,000 to spend, she’ll have plenty of fun and much material to work with for her future manga projects.
