The new year is here, and we cultured otaku have much to look forward to in 2024. Plenty of great anime and manga will greet us this year. As we remember some truly great waifus and some fun anime moments from 2023, let’s count down some of the best unmissable anime girls waiting for us in 2024.
1. Yumiella Dolkness (Villainess Level 99: I May Be the Hidden Boss but I’m Not the Demon Lord)
Yumiella is an isekai protagonist. She was a college student from Japan and an avid gamer. Being reborn into a world based on an otome game she had already completed 100% was like a dream for her. Yumiella managed to do some heavy grinding to level up to 99 in just a few years. She’ll be next year’s best kuudere and an unmissable anime girl. This girl is also incredibly oblivious. Stay strong, Patrick. You can watch her sometime this January 2024.
Satori Tanabata first published this isekai tale to the user-generated website Shosetsuka ni Naro on June 15th, 2018. Fujimi Shobo acquired the publishing rights and tasked the artist Tea to adapt the series to a light novel format. This new run began on May 10th, 2019, in the Kadokawa Books imprint.
2. Lilysa Amano (2.5 Dimensional Seduction)
Lilysa is a budding cosplayer. She has the figure and enjoys truly cultured otaku materials. Will she be the next unmissable anime girl after Marin Kitagawa from My Dress-Up Darling? Only time will tell how important 2.5 Dimensional Seduction becomes. So far, she’s more than comfortable in lewd cosplays, so she’s right in line with Marin. We’ll see how Lilysa matches up with Marin when her series premieres sometime in 2024.

3. Himeno “Hime” Nonaka and Granart Needakitta (Tales of Wedding Rings )
It was difficult to choose between the sexy gyaru and the sexy tan cat girl. Truly. Plenty of unmissable anime girls are coming to us in 2024. Hime is a princess from another world, and the boy with whom she shares mutual feelings follows her back to her original world. It’s there that he must build a harem to save the world. That harem just so happens to include the tan cat girl Granart. She likes strong men, and Haruto happens to be quite strong. You can see more of these top two harem members when the series premieres sometime this January 2024.

4. Fenrys “Rhys” (Chillin’ in Another World with Level 2 Super Cheat Powers)
Fenrys is a mighty demon and a former member of the demon army. She left after Flio bested her in combat and became his loving wife. Though she comes in two forms, human and wolf, she mostly stays in human form. I’m sure it’s not just Flio who appreciates her busty human figure. Her power and figure make her an unmissable anime girl coming next year. We’ll see more of her sometime in 2024.
Miya Kinojo first released her novel Level 2 Cheat Powers to Shosetsuka ni Naro between 2016 and 2019. Kinojo began working with Overlap to adapt the series to a light novel format alongside the artist Katagiri. Fifteen volumes have been released as of December 25th, 2016.
5. Anghalhad “Anne” (The Seven Deadly Sins: Four Knights of the Apocalypse)
Anne is a proud Holy Knight in service to the Kingdom of Liones. She becomes one of Percival’s friends and quickly takes up arms to fight on his behalf. Anne is also quick to deny her romantic feelings for him. While her series should not be missed, cute female knights with eye-catching attires are always unmissable anime girls. We’ll see how long her battle clothes last when this series premieres on January 31st, 2024.
If you want to keep the hype train rolling for The Seven Deadly Sins: Four Knights of the Apocalypse, J-List has you covered. The Elizabeth 1/4 B-STYLE Figure Bunny Ver. is now available for purchase.

6. Ine Seizo (Jiisan Baasan Wakagaeru)
Ine may be the oldest waifu on this list, but she’s still a top-tier waifu. She is still smitten with her husband after decades of marriage, and her youthful restoration only allows her to act upon them. Ine is also incredibly clever and sly, which grants further reasons to watch her. This unmissable anime girl is set to invade screens in April 2024.
Kagiri Araido first released his Jiisan Baasan Wakagaeru manga series on October 26th, 2019. Media Factory has since published seven volumes in the MF Comics and Monthly Comic Alunna magazine.
7. Tinasha (Unnamed Memory)
Tinasha is only one of five of the last remaining witches in the world. She’s also the most powerful among them. Prince Oscar can still make her flustered with proposals to become his wife, even though Tinasha, the Witch of the Azure Moon, may be immortal and possess wisdom and power beyond reckoning. Cute immortals are always unmissable anime girls, and we’ll see why when this series premieres in April 2024.
Kuji Furumiya first released his Unnamed Memory novel series on September 18th, 2012. ASCII Media Works obtained the rights and tasked the artist Chibi to adapt Unnamed Memory to the light novel format. This new run began on January 17th, 2019. Six volumes have been thus far published to Dengeki no Shin Bungei.
8. Rishe Irmgard Weitzner (7th Time Loop: The Villainess Enjoys a Carefree Life Married to Her Worst Enemy!)
Rishe has had a rough go of things. Though she is fated to die one way or another, time continues to turn back for her, right to the point where her royal fiancé publicly dumps her. She has died six times, and her seventh loop begins. The first person she meets is the man who keeps killing her. However, he doesn’t seem to be the same cruel killer she’s met six times before. Rishe intends to save herself and the kingdom using her knowledge and skills from her numerous loops. Cute pink-haired waifus with many skills will always be unmissable anime girls. We’ll see how she does when her series airs sometime in 2024.
Touko Amekawa began posting the original novel to Shosetsuka ni Naro on February 7th, 2020. Overlap obtained the publishing rights and hired the artist Wan Hachipisu to help adapt the series to the light novel format. Five volumes have been published in the Overlap Novels f imprint as of October 25th, 2020.
9. Minami Fuyuki (Hokkaido Gals Are Super Adorable!)
We have another gyaru coming next year. Minami is the first person Tsubasa met when he first arrived in Kitami. She’s a flashy and affectionate gyaru who dresses to impress, even when it’s too cold. Tsubasa would prefer a plain and diligent girl, but Minami is too irresistible. She’s also an unmissable anime girl set to turn heads sometime this January 2024.
As cute as Minami Fuyuki is, we mustn’t forget the top-tier gyaru cosplayer Marin Kitagawa. For those who agree, the J-List shop can help you fondly remember that famous swimsuit. The Marin Kitagawa 1/7 Figure Swimsuit Ver. from the My Dress-Up Darling section is now available for pre-order.
Hokkaido Gals Are Super Adorable! was initially a nineteen-page one-shot published in 2018 by Kai Ikada titled Instant Gal Menko-chan. A different one-shot was published in 2019 as part of a Shonen Jump+ New Year event. The series was picked up for serialization due to its sheer popularity. Eleven volumes have been published since the run began on September 4th, 2019.
10. Dr. Harleen Quinzel “Harley Quinn” (Suicide Squad ISEKAI)
The tragic, psychopathic clown doctor Harley Quinn is now lost in another world. There’s a chance to renew herself in a new world, but we can all guess what she’ll do. Still, Harley will do her best at whatever she wants and attract eyes as she does it. This wild, bat-wielding, unmissable anime girl is set to invade another world sometime in 2024.
The titular Suicide Squad was created by writer Robert Kanigher and artist Ross Andru. The team first appeared in the pages of The Brave and the Bold, starting in September 1959. The modern iteration was penned by John Ostrander and appeared in Legends in January 1987.
