It’s been a while since we last discussed 2.5 Dimensional Seduction. Cultured otaku who loved My Dress-Up Darling, an important anime series from 2022 about a cute cosplaying gyaru girl, will find much to enjoy with this anime series. The difference here is that our main otaku is a loner, and he doesn’t shy away from talking about his favorite waifu or the eroticism that comes with her. In fact, the girls he would have previously avoided share in his enthusiasm. We won’t see much of their love story until the series premieres sometime in 2024. Until then, we have a character trailer featuring the cosplaying idol 753♡ and a main series trailer to enjoy.
Yu Hashimoto first released his original 2.5 Dimensional Seduction manga series on June 15th, 2019. Shueisha has since published eighteen volumes in Shonen Jump+.
Our new lucky otaku and two waifu-tier cosplayers are as follows:
- Masamune Okumura — Junya Enoki (Shosuke Komi from Komi Can’t Communicate). A loner otaku who gave up on 3D women after his mother abandoned him and a girl he liked turned him down, leading to awful rumors spreading.
- Lilysa Amano — Kaori Maeda (Nice Nature from Uma Musume: Pretty Derby). A fellow otaku who admires Liliel, the same fictional character Masamune adores. She’s able to pursue her cosplaying passions with him.
- 753♡ — Aya Yamane (Secelia Dote in Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury). A professional cosplayer who can effortlessly draw a crowd. She’s the star of the recent character trailer.
J.C.Staff set up a home page and an official Twitter (X) page to promote 2.5 Dimensional Seduction. Additional series information and the Key Visuals can be found there. The Key Visual and trailer confirm that Lilysa’s shirt will be more closed than the manga iteration.
J.C.Staff’s Otaku Cosplay Romance
J.C.Staff is one of those studios that can considered truly “legendary.” The studio was founded long ago, on January 18th, 1986, by Tomoyuki Miyata, who previously worked at Tatsunoko Production. They’re most known for their work on Edens Zero, Do You Love Your Mom and Her Two-Hit Multi-Target Attacks?, The Familiar of Zero, Shingetsutan Tsukihime, Azumanga Daioh, and One-Punch Man.
A Love Story That Begins With 2.5 Dimensional Seduction
Like in My Dress-Up Darling, 2.5 Dimensional Seduction has an otaku whose life is turned around by a cute otaku who dreams of cosplaying. Masamune Okumura has become the president of the manga research club at his school. The others all graduated, leaving him its sole member as well. He has completely given up on 3D women due to some trauma from his past. Masamune’s mother abandoned him as a child, and a girl he confessed to rejected him. The rejection didn’t hurt him as much as the terrible rumors that spread around the school, which led to bullying.
Masamune’s planned solitary rule was interrupted when a cute megane girl expressed interest in joining the manga research club. Masamune was ready to dismiss Lilysa Amano, but she very quickly proved her love of cute erotic girls, but her adoration of the magical girl Liliel, Masamune’s waifu. Despite his resistance to 3D girls, Masamune saw her dedication to their shared hobby and welcomed her. He was also receptive to becoming her photographer for erotic cosplays. Her Liliel cosplay was super effective.
