Chained Soldier’s Baseline is Long and Schlong Progress
First, Chained Soldier uses Yuuki’s standard Slave base model to develop Kyouka’s character. Several elements work together to shape her personality. Kyouka’s revenge against Unihorn, the one-horned Shuuki, freed her from resenting Yuuki’s demon grunt resemblance. Her Slave ability (seemingly) added no psychic edge, forcing her to rely stubbornly on raw physical and mental talent. She hated boys as useless drains on a society that only women could save.
Everything changed after feeling the sexual and romantic desires typical of an average Japanese teenage boy. Chained Soldier knows its demographic. Kyouka is ready to explore the potential her Slave ability grants her, which includes physical force! The Slave’s collar and chain can be weapons, which broadened Kyouka’s conception that she only summoned mounts to ride. And the supernatural capacity extended to her sword! Kyouka’s base Slave might not be as flashy as her borrowers’ versions, but it could be more capable and adaptable.
Second, Kyouka’s borrowers can lend Yuuki to others, like the loan derivatives that triggered the 2008 financial crisis. What did we learn from that catastrophe? Everyone pays! In Yuuki’s case, lessees must reward him simultaneously. Fubuki voluntarily joined Himari in a Reward Ritual in the last Chained Soldier episode. But this week, she paid the mandatory price of a mother-daughter honey sandwich. Oyakodon — the weekly special!
Back to Basics
Kyouka’s Slave skill returns to first principles at Chained Soldier’s halfway mark, ending the playful, sexy fan service from the new girls. Only serious sexy fan service as the Demon Defense Force battles the Eight Thunder Gods on their turf in Japan. I’ll embrace the brighter color palette.
Chained Soldier Makes Me Say Heh.
Shushu can bother Yuuki again after the Azuma Banquet. Foreshadowing — a magazine cover model in a bikini for the “magic of summer!” That’s right. Chained Soldier’s beach episode has arrived.
Oh good. The previous episode featured only two pairs of breasts, so the Azuma girls make up for lost time. Yachiho and Maia kicked us off. Maia inherited her mother’s rapid mammary development. Aw. Yachiho’s in a good mood because Himari thanked her for watching over her as a child and called her “Oneechan.” Maia-oneechan wants some attention, too. Wash her back, Yachiho. Maia’s giant invisible hands will make you if you don’t.
Uh oh! Chained Soldier still has time for “night maneuvers” from the Azuma girls before Himari and Yuuki go home. First up is Homare, who thinks seducing Yuuki will give her a victory over Himari. Whoa. Homare looks much better without the “danger hair” and eyepatch. Too late, Homare! She’s even later than Tobera, who got there first! Har. The Azuma matriarch is so old-fashioned that she thought wearing a school swimsuit would rev up Yuuki’s engine. Oh. Fubuki took Himari and Yuuki back to the desert island dimension to fix their combat flaws. Homare hates how Tobera’s psychic power makes her forever sixteen.
MILF Expert Creates Bendy Boy Toy for Chained Soldier
Fubuki put Himari and Yuuki through their paces. Oh no. Fubuki grabbed Yuuki’s chain when she asked him to level up, meaning she borrowed him! Everyone gets a turn riding Yuuki in Chained Soldier. What a man-whore. Ack! Himari realized she must reward Yuuki with her mother because of the double-dipping. Here’s a second helping of oyakodon! Another fun design change.
Yuuki’s title with Fubuki plays on the words for “human bullet” (肉弾, にくだん, nikudan). However, the title card shows the pronunciation “niku hazumi” because 弾み means “bounce, spring, rebound.” Will Yuuki’s form be stretchy meat? Himari now understands how Kyouka feels when lending Yuuki to others. Let’s see what powers Fubuki gave him. What the…? Yuuki’s flesh is rubber! How does that relate to Fubuki’s lance? Because she can extend it? Does Chained Soldier imply that Fubuki knows her way around rubber toys?
Her Slave form exhausted Yuuki, so he craved a sweet reward. How about honey-drenched oyakodon? Yuuki loves kissing Himari. And what will Fubuki do with that jar of honey? Paizuri! That’s the first time we’ve seen her blush. She promises to relieve his “tension” whenever he desires. There’s more in store! Sweet lingerie! Fubuki embraces Yuuki’s “indecency,” calling it “compassion” to cater to his sweet tooth. Boo! Still no glimpse of Fubuki’s nipples!
Chained Soldier cuts to the cover model’s apartment. Why? Because Kuusetsu collects beautiful things in the real world. The Thunder God used Naon’s ability to walk through walls. Is that feather dart hers, though?

Chained Soldier’s Beach Episode Showcases Shushu’s “Growth”
Suddenly — Bikini Beach Episode! Yes. Yes! Late summer is Shushu’s time to shine. Himari spent a lot of time away from the Mato to deal with the Azuma Banquet, so she stayed at the dorm to stand watch. Why is Tenka hanging out with the 7th Squadron? Even Kyouka wonders why she’s there. It’s just a short stopover. Don’t worry about it! Tenka’s a Chained Soldier fan favorite. How can Shushu compete with Kyouka and Tenka in sexy bikinis? These squadron leaders, like Yakumo, are fierce competition! But Shushu can monopolize Yuuki’s time and play hard. Let’s enjoy a beach episode montage! Well, Shushu tried to be alone with Yuuki, but that never works out in anime. Aw. Nei’s beach ball had four hearts, matching Yuuki’s divided attention at the beach.
Tenka’s psychic powers make stalking Yuuki so easy, but his beach adventure continues in the shower. With Shushu! Ooh! She enhanced her ability to shrink or grow individual body parts. Like her bosom! It’s amazing how that boosts Shushu’s confidence. Watch out. Chained Soldier turned Yuuki into the harem master type who accidentally throws his game in all directions. You can’t just tell your female friend with a crush on you that she’s cuter than before! Romantic moment interrupted! He’s shojo manga’s most dangerous archetype.
The “Chain” in Chained Soldier — More Than a Fetish Accessory
Ah. This beach episode doubles as the summer training camp arc. Chained Soldier’s gender role reversals exclude the NTR orgy scenario for team managers. How will the anime riff on the premise instead? Newsflash — Kyouka can access all the Slave forms Yuuki creates with his borrowers. She dislikes it because each form has a mana or stamina timer, while his baseline form stops only when she says so.
Har. Yuuki’s rewards from Kyouka are much more fetish-specific these days. Gains. Yuuki’s time with the other Chained Soldier girls strengthened his vanilla form. But that requires Kyouka to turn Yuuki into a man-slut under orders from Ren. She has yet to recognize her frustration and reluctance to share. Yuuki belongs to her! Oh. Kyouka just had a nightmare! Yeah, she won’t let the others share Yuuki so much. Good news for Kyouka: Yuuki thinks he should spend more time with her instead of whoring himself out.
Breaking news. Kyouka and Yuuki can wield the chain on the collar as a weapon! The Slave Chain glow extends to Kyouka’s sword. More rewards! With kisses!

Chained Soldier shifts to the Eight Thunder Gods. Kuusetsu has amassed a collection of ugly demons and beautiful women. What’s her goal?
Chained Soldier has a new ending theme. I’ll create more images after the creditless version drops. What does Club 51 signify, though? Whatever it means, the Eight Thunder Gods took over the bar. The Demon Defense Squadron Commanders wear cocktail dresses at this fine establishment. Next time, we might see how Ren treats Bell. And Shushu returns to host the omake, revealing what Himari would have worn at the beach.
