After last week’s episode, I was expecting mystery, but I got hentai. Does It Count If You Lose Your Virginity to an Android?, Episode 7, fully embraced horniness. Or at least Akane did. We’ve all had that moment when we think we’re going to get laid, but nothing happens. One of life’s most unpleasant moments is thinking that you misread a situation you find yourself in. When that situation starts to favor you, it’s bliss. Kudos to Episode 7 for being so relatable.
But that relatability was all we got. I would have been happy if this anime had finished its run with nothing more than yuri sexiness. But since Episode 6 introduced a new plot point, I was expecting more. And even though I knew that the chances of getting anything meaningful were low, I hoped. But much like peace of mind, what I’m asking for is something I won’t receive.

Does It Count If You Lose Your Virginity to an Android?, Episode 7 — Is It a Hentai?
Plot advancement aside, we got love hotel yuri action this episode. For about half a minute, I had a minute. But then that annoying voice in the back of my mind interrupted me with thoughts of love hotels and porn.
Someone once told me that “love hotels” are a distinctly Asian notion. I say ballocks. Anyone who’s spent time in Latin America, especially Central America, will tell you otherwise. That said, I’m a germaphobe — I wouldn’t come within 500 feet of a love hotel. Likewise, I wouldn’t watch porn with someone. I doubt that showing a girl the porn J-List sells or doujin I like would lead to a positive outcome. But Akane and Nadeshiko are cut from a different cloth — all it took for sexy time to start was hotel porn.
That is where I extend my heartfelt thanks to Does It Count If You Lose Your Virginity to an Android?, Episode 7. The ecchi scenes in this episode were, as the kids say, PEAK.
With every episode, this anime has been escalating its sexual content. More importantly (and I can’t believe that I’m saying this), it’s becoming more adept at artfully censoring things. When Nadeshiko was sucking Akane’s oppai, her hair censored the scene. Everything about that felt natural. It wasn’t intrusive; it didn’t lessen the impact of the scene. That scene showed what SSR-level censorship could be.
Random Horny Thoughts
The upcoming spring anime season has four hentai titles and five ecchi/fan service titles. Unfortunately, Nyan Pollution-ω- won’t be involved with any of them. I reached out to a few people to see if we’ll see more of Does It Count If You Lose Your Virginity to an Android?, or Nyan Pollution-ω- in the coming season (or later). I couldn’t find any information about the studio — that’s a shame because I wish for more of their content.
Top-tier studios seldom animate ecchi shows. While Nyan Pollution-ω- didn’t have the best artwork, it was endearing. In both regular scenes and sex scenes, you’ll notice some discrepancies. But if I were a lesser person, I’d list anime from better studios that have crap that’s this level or worse. Who am I kidding? Nyan Pollution-ω- did a better job in this than JC Staff did with One Punch Man S3. Even when studios like Passione enhance the art of a series (like they did with Chained Soldier‘s second season), they falter at the action. Hell, this show had better fluidity than a lot of the Chained Soldier fights. It wasn’t perfect, not even close. But compared to everything else that gets an R18 rating this season (Ichigo Aika and Ren Arisugawa Is Actually a Girl), it’s way more enjoyable.
Moving on… the chances of this anime receiving another season are as close to zero. However, the producers will release an OVA on May 27. That counts for something. If it doesn’t, the best solace I can offer you is Soft on Demand’s Nia MottoMataGatte (NieR:Automata cosplay JAV). How will that help? There are sexy androids. See you next week, ja ne!
