Nazuna Miki and Tsukasa Araki released the original So What’s Wrong with Getting Reborn as a Goblin? manga series on February 26th, 2020. Shueisha has since published fourteen volumes in Tonari no Young Jump.

The adorable isekai protagonist and two of his new friends are as follows:
- Akira Yagami — Kikunosuke Toya (Denji from Chainsaw Man). Akira was a human IT technician who gave his life to save a child.
- Karen — Yoko Hikasa (Weiss Schnee from RWBY: Ice Queendom). Karen is a knight and law keeper.
- Chloe — Azusa Tachibana (Lily from The Quintessential Quintuplets*). Chloe is a demon girl who seeks her lord.

So What’s Wrong with Getting Reborn as a Goblin?
Akira Yagami is a kind and diligent worker. He’s quick to understand tasks and execute them flawlessly. Akira’s kindness was on full display when his company junior, Takahashi, made a mistake, forcing Akira to correct it on his day off. He then told Takahashi to take off when he learned that it was Takahashi’s anniversary and his girlfriend’s birthday. This selfless nature became his undoing when he saved a boy who was about to be hit by a truck.
Akira’s final thoughts were collected and narrowed down into some form of search algorithm upon his death. His wish for a longer life, where skills can be inherited by those left behind, was granted. Akira was cast down to another world as an adorable goblin. Goblins typically only live for a week, but due to Akira’s wish becoming a skill, he will live for 80 years. His longevity allows him to inherit hundreds of skills from short-lived goblins and even dying demon lords. There will be no quiet or slow life for the intelligent, long-lived goblin.
