Supernatural horniness is on its way! Puuzaki Puuna (Puu no Puupuupuu) announced that their adult doujin, The Shy Snow Woman and the Cursed Ring (Hitozukiai ga Nigate na Mibōjin no Yuki Onna-san to Noroi no Yubiwa), is getting a TV anime adaptation. Currently, there’s no information on the adapting studio or voice cast. But as Puu no Puupuupuu pointed out in their announcement, their doujin is bypassing the usual OVA treatment, and there are changes to the story. Maybe those edits will result in a less NSFW anime. Or maybe a broadcasting network did a reverse CBS, grew some balls, and will air The Shy Snow Woman and the Cursed Ring in all its R18 glory. That’s probably not the case. Shimoneta and Idiocracy were a glimpse into the future.
Puu no Puupuupuu released a couple of celebratory illustrations. May you enjoy them as much as I did.
The Shy Snow Woman and the Cursed Ring Deets
Puuzaki Puuna began self-publishing The Shy Snow Woman and the Cursed Ring in July 2021. The doujin was then published on DLsite the following October. Irodori Comics also licensed the series that year and released the English translation of the doujin. The first and second chapters of the series are currently free to read on the Irodori website.
The Shy Snow Woman and the Cursed Ring takes place in a world where supernatural beings live alongside humans. While yokai and cryptids are a daily occurrence for Satoshi Takahashi, when he inherits his father’s yokai-exclusive apartment complex, he finally meets a yokai that takes his breath away. The moment he saw the yuki-onna (snow woman) Yukino, he knew it was love. And while the two get along, their relationship doesn’t progress. Yukino lost her husband two years prior, and while devoid of love and sexually frustrated, she knows the stigma that comes with a relationship with a yuki-onna. So she keeps Takahashi at arm’s length.
But when Takahashi finds a ring in Yukino’s apartment that lets him control a yuki-onna, things get heavy. Should he leave the ring alone? Or does he use it to coax a relationship or more?
