The Lonely Snow Widow and the Cursed Ring Gets an Early AnimeFesta Premiere

Yokai eroticism is on the way, and we know what comes along with it. AnimeFesta released a new trailer for the anime adaptation of Puuzaki Puuna’s The Lonely Snow Widow and the Cursed Ring. Alongside the trailer, the company revealed three versions and an advanced September 11 AnimeFesta screening.

Hitozukiai ga Nigate na Miboujin no Yukionna-san to Noroi no Yubiwa will have a censored broadcast version, a slightly censored version, and a “Premium” cultured version. The anime’s broadcast version will air on different days — BS11 will premiere the show on October 4 JST, while TOKYO MX will air it on October 6 JST (effectively October 7).

Kazuomi Koga, of Rent-A-Girlfriend fame, will animate The Lonely Snow Widow and the Cursed Ring. Miyako Nishida will be the chief animation director, while Mina Kawa Akapi v contributed the character designs. The anime’s voice cast includes Rikka Kitami as Mifuyu Yukino, Harumichi Shito as Satoru Takahashi, and Sara Ayumi as Kaede Kiryuin. Studio HoKiBOSHI, the legends behind Overflow and Harem Camp, will animate the production. OceanVeil had previously announced that they would stream the uncensored version of the anime.

The Lonely Snow Widow and the Cursed Ring Deets

If you ever encountered a yokai, what would you do? Would you take a grainy, ultra-blurry picture of it, or would you try to hump it? If you’re like Satoru Takahashi, you’d choose the latter.

For Takahashi-kun, yokai and cryptids are a common daily occurrence, so much so that one of his tenants, a yukionna named Mifuyu, has stolen his heart. But despite initially having a warm relationship, Satoru and Mifuyu’s compatibility quickly turned to ice when Satoru made an improper remark about Mifuyu’s love life and her deceased husband. But there’s hope for his would-be romance even though that faux pas made Mifuyu ignore him. A magical ring suddenly appears in Satoru’s bedroom, and it can bind and manipulate yokai! But will Satoru abandon his morality and rob Mifuyu of her free will?

Puuzaki Puuna (Puu no Puupuupuu) released The Lonely Snow Widow and the Cursed Ring as a self-published doujin in July 2021. Irodori Comics licensed the doujin and released it under the title The Shy Snow Woman and the Cursed Ring.
