Many isekai protagonists wish to be reborn into a cool RPG. Not this guy, though! This guy’s own sister extorted him into playing a crummy, pay-to-win otome game merely to make her happy. She framed him for something she did, and his parents lost all faith in him. To add insult to injury, he met an unpleasant end and was reborn into that game’s bitterly unfair world. We’ll see how he fares in this life when Trapped in a Dating Sim: The World of Otome Games Is Tough for Mobs Season 2 (Otome Game Sekai wa Mob ni Kibishii Sekai desu) premieres sometime in July 2026.

The isekai protagonist and two of his cute waifus are as follows:

- Leon Fou Bartfort — Takeo Otsuka (Aquamarine Hoshino from Oshi no Ko). Leon’s sister forced him to beat an unfair otome game.
- Olivia — Kana Ichinose (Suletta Mercury from Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury). Olivia is a kind and gentle girl befitting her role as a stolen protagonist.
- Angelica Rapha Redgrave — Fairouz Ai (Power from Chainsaw Man). Angelica’s temper once earned her the title of the otome game’s villainess.
Studio ENGI maintains a website and a Twitter (X) account to promote Trapped in a Dating Sim. You can find more information about the series and the key visuals at those sites.

Trapped in a Dating Sim with No Peaceful Route in Sight
Yet another unfortunate Japanese salaryman’s life ended bitterly. That office worker’s sister extorted him to play a terrible, pay-to-win otome game to 100 percent. She accidentally framed him by leaving her yaoi books in his old room, and his mother assumed they were his. She agreed to clear up the misunderstanding if he beat an otome game that she couldn’t beat. He beat the game, pouring his time and money into it, at the cost of his life. His goal of clearing his name was in reach when his life ended.

He was reborn into that terrible otome game, one that mixed swords and sorcery with sci-fi elements and a matriarchal society. Leon Fou Bartfort lived under the yoke of tyranny until he used his knowledge of the game to acquire an almighty airship that awarded him money and his own private floating island. Leon’s plan to live in the background quickly went to ground. He stepped in to defend a girl from another isekai protagonist, setting off a series of climactic events.
Will you set off fireworks when you watch the premiere of Trapped in a Dating Sim: The World of Otome Games Is Tough for Mobs in July? Have you read the original novel? Will Leon get his idyllic isekai life? Let us know in the comments below.
