Tatsuya has sworn to defend his sister Miyuki with his very life. His task continues even when they enter First High School to hone and master their magical abilities. Their circumstances grow complicated when the school judges Miyuki a genius mage and dismisses Tatsuya as mediocre. Tatsuya has since proven his worth by defending his sister and friends from increasingly powerful enemies. We’ll see if he can handle a fateful family gathering when The Irregular at Magic High School: Yotsuba Succession Arc (Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei Movie: Yotsuba Keishou-hen) premieres sometime in July 2026.

- Tatsuya Shiba — Yuichi Nakamura (Gray Fullbuster from Fairy Tail). Tatsuya is Miyuki’s sworn guardian and older brother.
- Miyuki Shiba — Saori Hayami (Yor Forger from Spy × Family). Miyuki is Tatsuya’s princess-like sister, though she would prefer that he see her as a woman.

The Fateful Family Reunion Begins in The Irregular at Magic High School: Yotsuba Succession Arc
Tatsuya and Miyuki Shiba are heirs to the prestigious and feared Yotsuba Clan. Tatsuya stands as his sister’s guardian, the one who would risk everything to keep her safe. Though they’re siblings, their family heaps praise upon Miyuki while actively shunning Tatsuya. Still, he continues his mission even as they enter First High School like so many other Japanese mages to learn how to properly wield their magical abilities. The school would quickly realize that Tatsuya is not the weakling their ranking system has judged him to be.

Miyuki recently received an invitation from the Yotsuba Clan’s head, Maya Yotsuba, to attend the New Year’s family gathering. Attendance is mandatory for this particular event. Miyuki knows that the time has come to select Maya’s heir to the position of family head. With so much power and prestige on the line, their travel home won’t be without incident. Many despise Tatsuya for his fearsome magical abilities, and Miyuki’s relatives are already pushing her to succeed Maya. Their troubles will be far from over even if they reach Maya’s abode.
