What Were the Most Incredible Anime Fan Service Moments of 2025?
Anime positively boomed this year, giving us more than 250 new series across four anime seasons. While many of these shows created a decent amount of “buzz” among fans for having excellent stories and characters, others got noticed for their steamy visual content or sexy situations. I already gave my ranking for the anime series that made our hearts soar this year, so let’s check out which series had sexy content that was so innovative and clever, fans couldn’t help but take notice!
But why do modern anime series need to have anime fan service at all?
- Anime has become an extremely competitive space, and to win fans, anime series need to stand out. One time-tested way to get attention is to add clever, sexy camera angles.
- Studios aren’t just competing with other anime offerings, but with TikTok, Instagram, and everything else on the internet. They need to come up with content that can stand out in such a crowded world.
- Sexy moments in anime aren’t actually that common. Remember, there are 60+ new anime pitched to fans each anime season. Only a few of them generally have a significant amount of fan service, outside of a single jiggling boob in episode one.
- Fans expect visual fan service for certain genres. When creators withhold it — like Luminous Witches, which tried to turn Strike Witches into a generic idol show without sexy gags — fans won’t be supportive.

Why I Missed Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World
As I’ve written before, I’m an S-rank user of image boards like Danbooru to find the source of anime clips. I also check several sites regularly to find sexy anime clips to post to the J-List X account. Imagine my surprise when, while doing research for this post, I found some great GIFs from Kimi to Boku no Saigo no Senjou, Aruiwa Sekai ga Hajimaru Seisen that I’d never seen. It seems I missed the show because, for one reason or another, it didn’t catch the attention of Western fans on sites like Gelbooru.
Would You Live With an Otaku Neet Kunoichi?
Another anime that proved you can get by with a mediocre story if you have enough anime fan service was NEET Kunoichi to Nazeka Dousei Hajimemashita. It was about an average Japanese salaryman who ends up living with several otaku female ninjas who want to live for free and play video games all day. Can You Make a Romance Anime Without a Little Fan Service?
Sure, they could have made Kowloon Generic Romance without bothering to add any sexy moments, but I think the scene where Reiko paints an apartment wearing almost no clothes was the perfect use of fan service in anime. It gave fans a shot of dopamine and made them feel a connection to the character that helped draw them in.

I’m Sorry I Missed Momentary Lilly
Another show I missed until it was over was Momentary Lilly. If they had moved the swimsuit sequence to episode 1 or 2 instead of episode 6, I might have caught it sooner. Such is the life of an ecchi anime blogger!
Ecchi Anime 2025: Kakushite! Makina-san!!
This show is a romantic ecchi comedy about Eita, a boy who prefers building machines to dealing with people. He ends up with a sexy female robot named Makina-san who offers a constant stream of sexy visual content for fans.
The Return of Panty & Stocking
When is the bankruptcy of an anime studio a good thing? When it facilitates the return of important IPs to the creators who deserve to own them. With the long-awaited failure of Gainax, the ownership of works like Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt and Gurren Lagann returned to Trigger co-founder Hiroyuki Imaishi. I really enjoyed the return of the series!

A thoroughly enjoyable anime that taught us how natural processes inside the Earth create the gems and precious metals in our world today.

I’ve got a theory that fans love to bang their fists on the table, demanding new seasons of the anime they love… then decline to watch when they finally come out. But does this happen even when the show consists mostly of fun ecchi harem moments? Based on the success of the second season of Kekkon Yubiwa Monogatari or 100 Girlfriends in 2025, it seems the answer is no.
We Loved Hands Off: Sawaranaide Kotesashi-kun
Another awesome entry in the ecchi anime 2025 ranking was this one, about a boy who wants to become a sports doctor. He’s so good at massaging the women he lives with, the girls’ clothes fly off, ala Food Wars!
Traveling Through Time Through the Power of Panties
It was hard not placing this innovative and fun anime in the top spot this year. The setup was amazing: a girl who can time-travel by removing her panties, who needs a loyal sidekick to carry around a supply of underwear for her to put on every time she uses her power. It should have been the dumbest anime ever, but I enjoyed every episode.
(Instead of actual time travel, what if a new “instance” of Takamine-san spawns every time she uses her power, leaving an embarrassed version of herself in the old timeline who has to explain to the students in her class why she decided to take her underwear off in front of everyone?)
Nukitashi the Animation Was The Best Ecchi Anime of 2025
In the end, the top spot for the best anime fan service offering of 2025 was Nukitashi the Animation. It’s a bizarre show based on a doujin visual novel about a world in which everyone is required to have sex, every day.
