From one petite mage to another, we’re turning our attention to Atsuko “Akko” Kagari from Little Witch Academia. A series that really needs a second season, Little Witch Academia is everything Harry Potter wishes it was. Cute witches, adorable friendships, and a suspicious amount of yuri bait — just as God intended!
Akko is the perfect go-getter, full of pep and driven to follow in the footsteps of her idol, Shiny Chariot, to become a “cool” witch. Akko’s bunny-eared mishaps when learning metamorphosis magic have turned into a running theme among her cosplayers, even going full bunny girl cosplay mode!

Fern: Big Girls Have Bigger Spells!
After featuring the gothic version of her master, Frieren, last week, we just had to showcase Fern for this mage cosplay post! This buxom young mage is the physical opposite of the other entrants on this list, with natural talent that rivals her natural assets!
Maybe being tsundere is a requirement for magecraft because Fern’s definitely a little prickly, but under that harsh exterior is a genuine heart of gold, making her one of our favorite new-generation mages!

Roxy: Mage Cosplay Worth Reincarnation
Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation is a series that always creates heated discussions, but this writer is most definitely a fan of the series. Particularly of the blue-haired demon mage, Roxy Migurdia!
She mostly gets credit for training Rudeus, but Roxy is a talented mage in her own right, only surpassed by her own student. She’s also another respectable addition to our flat-chested team of mages, and she’s beloved for her distinctive striped shimapan panties.

Dark Magician Girl
The first spellcasting crush for a whole generation of 1990s anime watchers, Dark Magician Girl is the pastel-colored apprentice to Yu-Gi-Oh‘s famous Dark Magician. Gender stereotyping aside, Dark Magician Girl has seen a resurgence in popularity among slightly older cosplayers, seemingly reliving their youth (we don’t blame them).
Cosplays like these remind us of the technical skill required in cosplay, from crafting (or printing) elaborate armor pieces to finding the right props and wigs to make the character come to life.

Rin Tohsaka: Stay the Night for This Mage Cosplay
In the world of Fate/stay night, “mages” and “magicians” are distinct concepts, but don’t think Rin Tohsaka is any less capable for being only a mage.
