It’s been a while since Kizuna AI followers got hyped about Kizuna no Allele. Season 1 was well-received, though I think it needed more Kizuna AI. However, we get a glimpse of Kizuna AI from behind, watching Miracle and her friends in this season. We’ll see where that scene goes when the series returns on October 4, 2023. We’ll have to be content with the new trailer or an older one until then.
Kizuna no Allele was first announced at Kizuna AI’s farewell concert, Hello World, 2022. It provides an original story with unique and fun characters who follow in the footsteps of Kizuna AI. It’s a fictional version of a digital idol, so the in-universe Kizuna AI differs from the one we know and love.
The series follows the girls of PathTLive. Below are just a couple of these budding idols.
- Miracle — Ayumi Hinohara (Yaeno Muteki in Uma Musume: Pretty Derby). Miracle dreams of becoming an idol like Kizuna AI. However, she begins the series without any singing or dancing skills. Her kindness and indomitable spirit will see her get far.
- Noelle — Yuka Nukui (Nanao Hibiya in Reign of the Seven Spellblades). Noelle comes from a wealthy family and expects only the best from herself. Despite her lofty upbringing and expectations, she is still a loyal friend to all.
- Chris — Hikari Kodama (J-Pop Singer). Chris feels dissatisfied with her lot in life and hopes to change things around by becoming an idol. She senses something different about Miracle and has taken an interest in her.
Kizuna AI and Kizuna no Allele fans should watch the promotional home page and the official Twitter page for series updates. There are also new key visuals to enjoy there as well.
Aim for the Top, PathTLive!
Kizuna no Allele presents a world somewhat like our own: digital idols are everywhere and taking over. Fortunately, most are benevolent. The most famous performer in this series is, of course, Kizuna AI. Despite being an artificial idol, she’s beloved by all. Kizuna AI was so cherished that she had won the prestigious Lapin d’Or at the Virtual Grid Awards five years in a row. She then vanished at the height of her popularity.
Several months later, one of her biggest fans, Miracle, entered ADEN Academy, which trains the new generations of virtual idols. Miracle’s goal is to be just like Kizuna AI, even if she doesn’t have the required skill set. Her time at ADEN would bear fruit, and she would gain an idol’s talents to form a team herself, PathTLive.
Season 2 sees Miracle and her friends at the main ADEN seed competition for the Virtual Grid Awards. Reaching the top won’t be easy, and many challenges await them. Those same challenges may also test the bonds of friendship that keep PathTLive together.
Wit Studio Continues to Set the Stage
Wit Studio is collaborating with Signal.MD to animate Kizuna no Allele. Producers from Production I.G founded the studio on June 1, 2012. Having said that, Wit Studio needs no real introduction. They have worked on some of the best anime series of this decade.
Wit Studio’s works exist all over the industry and defy genres. SPY x FAMILY is a clear stand-out. Who doesn’t like hot waifus and cute psychics? They’re working with CloverWorks to animate that series. It’s the same studio that animated the Fate/Samurai Remnant opening. If that’s not enough, it has also worked on various entries in the Pokémon franchise. Do you want more? It animated Onipan!, a series about oni girls wearing panties. Are you not entertained?
J-List can help you if your life needs even more VTuber goodness. The Takanashi Kiara POP UP PARADE Figure from Hololive is now available for pre-order. Kiawawa is always there to put a smile on your face.
Are you looking forward to Kizuna no Allele Season 2? Did you enjoy Season 1? How do you think Kizuna AI will impact the plot? I hope she takes center stage. The official (digital) Kizuna AI voices her, so it would be nice to hear her voice again. Let us know in the comments below.
