Case 9 – “The Collapsed Dragon”
Hmm.
Skadi provided good world-building for Monster Girl Doctor by confirming that supernatural power exists. Everything we’ve seen through Glenn’s lens of medical science comes from a Renaissance-era understanding of biology and chemistry. Skadi the dragon girl adds a spiritual component by claiming she and her dragon kind came from “near the realm of the gods” and the human world’s “miasma” deformed them into the dragon forms we know from mythology and heraldry. She turned into a cute girl while other dragons lost their limbs or transformed differently. This makes me wonder what a “pure dragon” would look like in its native land in the world of Monster Girl Doctor. In Norse mythology, Skadi is a jötunn, which is a vaguely defined celestial entity, so it’s fitting that we only know what dragons look like after they fell from the heavens.
I also wonder how Skadi’s memory of her past self and how she developed a life-threatening tumor relates to her feeling she deserves it. In the world of Monster Girl Doctor, dragons are hard to kill, even if they look like a precious young woman. There’s much to Skadi’s discussion of dragon origins with Glenn that stokes interest in how long they live, how much they’re responsible for the human-monster war, and why Skadi feels so much guilt that she thinks she deserves the death penalty. It’s clear that her project of creating the city of Lindworm where humans and monsters live peacefully is a way to pay restitution for her past sins. There’s also the mystery of where Skadi’s illness came from, but I’m confident we’ll get the answer to that when Glenn tries to convince her to have the surgical operation to remove the tumor.

Skadi collapsed, but she’s resting comfortably. Cthulhy is her primary doctor, so Glenn didn’t receive any information on her condition. Sheep girls work as nurses in the central hospital. Sapphee mistrusts Cthulhy. I sense boundary issues.
Cthulhy’s office has big doors. Instant tentacle bondage! Glenn’s superpower is a strong ribcage to allow him to breathe when a monster girl wraps him up with snake coils, spider webs, or octopus arms. Oh, Sapphee is here too? Such a mean girl tactic. There’s a longstanding rivalry here. Fun. Cthulhy’s pupils resemble octopi’s eyes. Cthulhy has six tentacles and two arms. That’s eight limbs. Cthulhy and Sapphee are two monster girls fighting over territory. That territory is Glenn, of course.
Cthulhy explains Skadi’s illness as rare and difficult to treat because she’s a dragon. These monster girls are so tough they may survive years before dying of something terminal. Cthulhy has a nervous tic where she gnaws on her tentacle tips, which are the toughest parts of an octopus besides the beak. She’s a good doctor because she doesn’t tell Glenn and Sapphee what is Skadi’s illness. That’s up to Skadi to share, not her primary care physician, and Skadi doesn’t want to get better. We’ve got a plot!
Monster Girl Doctor skipped a step. Why is Glenn suturing Kunai’s arm? That’s too convenient for her to show up right now. Glenn told Kunai that Cthulhy defers to her patients but he’s pushier. Yeah, we noticed! Kunai is pushy too. She’ll ride that pushy Doctor Glenn train to help cure her master. Oops. Sapphee doesn’t like the idea of a late-night tryst in a monster girl’s bedroom. Everything Kunai says about making sure Glenn’s examination happens equally applies to a secret lover’s visit. With how Glenn treats monster girls, it will turn out that way, I’m sure. Har. One of Sapphee’s main bones of contention is that Glenn will sneak into the bedroom of a monster girl who looks like a child. Ooh, foreshadowing. Kunai says Skadi’s heart condition is beyond imagination. That’s a big setup.
Oh? Kunai thinks Skadi won’t refuse Glenn’s pushiness… But both Kunai and Sapphee will eavesdrop to make sure Glenn’s usual monster girl roughness won’t happen. Aw. Glenn thinks she’s pretty in the moonlight wearing a see-through nightie. That’s the point! She’ll consent to the examination for Kunai’s sake.
Here we go! Show us that monster girl’s chest beyond imagination! Well, a glowing tumor on top of her breastbone is certainly beyond imagination… Straight to touching her chest. Skadi doesn’t mind explaining dragon origins while Glenn rubs her chest. I’m not a fan of how Skadi’s nightie keeps moving around hiding or not hiding her nipples. I’m not even sure Skadi should have nipples…
The malignant tumor has already taken over many of Skadi’s blood vessels. She calls it having two hearts. Skadi explains how dragons don’t belong on earth and changed after they descended. We haven’t seen any magic in this show, but Kunai and now Skadi confirm there are souls and gods. Perhaps Dione Nephilim is one of those gods. Skadi thinks her tumor comes from all of the bloodshed from the human-monster war.
And now it’s time for Glenn’s accidental sexy time with a monster girl. He knows exactly where all a monster girl’s sensitive parts are. Ah. Skadi’s tail drooped because she stores nutrients there and when she’s feeling fatigued, she uses it up, making her tail thinner. Besides being extra sensitive, there’s a hint to how he’ll perform the surgery. Skadi makes cute monster girl face. Kunai isn’t going to let this last forever. Glenn made Skadi cry… Unforgivable! Aw. She just couldn’t hold back her sensations. Kunai let Glenn keep his head.
Glenn has a plan, but Cthulhy has reservations. She would have removed the monster girl’s tumor long ago if Skadi let her, but it has grown and spread too far now. Glenn has two tasks. Recruit another set of skilled surgical hands and convince Skadi to let the operation happen. Cthulhy is so proud. Of Sapphee too! That’s a nice monster girl yuri coil moment.
Glenn knows who can handle needle and thread, but he’ll need Sapphee to convince her to join the operation. Monster girl spiders like doctors for marriage material. Sapphee should ignore side characters. Ha. Arahnia won’t do it! She’s not afraid of failing. She’s afraid of the damage done to her fabric company’s reputation if people know her skill couldn’t save the beloved monster girl Skadi. Eh?! Sapphee knows Arahnia best, I suppose, but she thinks her key motivation would be wearing a matching nurse’s uniform. Hahaha! Arahnia is in, all the way!
Next time, that cute cyclops girl who helped make horseshoes for Tisalia joins the team for some reason. Oh, maybe Glenn talks to Skadi again too.
