Plenty of otaku dislike reading manga or watching ongoing anime. While I enjoy seasonal watches and the occasional manga chapter, I understand wanting to consume everything at once. Life’s chaotic, and that often hinders our ability to indulge in manga and anime. Fans of a manga will be saddened by the conclusion of a series they love. But that conclusion always welcomes new fans. And I’m sure Ryuta Amazume’s Sex Friends (Sefure) manga will gain plenty of new fans when it concludes.
The latest issue of Shounen Gahousha’s Young King magazine announced that Sex Friends will end in the magazine’s 16th annual issue on July 27, 2026.

Sex Friends Are the Best of Friends
Shounen Gahousha’s Young King magazine has serialized Sex Friends since March 2019. Amazume-sensei writes and illustrates the erotic rom-com manga. Shounen Gahousha has compiled the manga into 11 volumes — the 12th will be released on September 14. The publisher hasn’t stated whether the manga’s next volume will be its last.
Amazume-sensei has illustrated or authored doujins and eromanga since 1999. Some of his earlier stuff is sus. But later works are worth reading. Studio AIC PLUS+ (Date A Live) adapted one of his works, Nana to Kaoru, into a 24-minute OVA. Amazume-sensei even voiced one of the characters!
Sex Friends revolves around the life of the popular radio DJ, Leo. As one of the best radio DJs in Japan (readers under 25, do you still know what a radio is?), listeners always call in to chat with Leo over the air. But what do they talk about? Why, sex, of course! Leo’s a pro at giving out horny advice. But her own sexual exploits are more complicated. While she’s adamant about not dating, she’s always banging a dude named Shougo. Yet, the more the two Sex Friends delight in each other’s bodies, the more they see each other in a romantic light.
