The official website of The Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime (Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken) streamed a promotional video for the anime, announcing that the author Fuse, and artist Mitz Vah’s light novel series Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken ( That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime) will be getting a televised anime series. The series will premiere on Tokyo MX and BS11 on October 2nd, before airing on TVK. The website also revealed that Takuma Tershima will be performing the anime’s opening song “Nameless Story”, and TRUE to perform the ending song “Another Colony.” It will run for a total of two cours.
Fuse launched the light novel, Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken, on “Shōsetsuka ni Narō” (Let’s Become Novelists) website from 2013 to 2016, from there the series gained over 400 million page views. Micro Magazine began to publishing the series in print in 2014. The 12th volume shipped on March 9, 2018. The series currently has 405 million copies in print. The manga adaptation was launched by Taiki Kawakami in Kodansha’s Monthly Shonen Sirius magazine in 2015. Kondansha Comics, and Yen Press publishes the English translation of the series. The novels inspired a separate manga spinoff called Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken – Mamono no Arikikata (That Time I got Reincarnated As A Slime – How Monsters Walk) by Sho Okagiri, which is serialized in Micro Magazine’s Comic Ride manga website.
