Kairi’s grandfather imparted one final message: find Senki. This is more of a title than a name. “Senki” refers to the greatest Dark Machine player in the game. Kairi’s search for Senki leads him to a special town where he meets a mysterious girl whom Senki hunts. We’ll see who and what he finds when Dark Machine the Animation premieres sometime in 2026.
Project Carbuncle and Keiichi Yano created the original Dark Machine mixed media project. Goro Taniguchi and Hidetaka Tenjin developed the video game adaptation.
Dark Machine the Animation Cast
The new mech gamer, his new mysterious friend, and a fellow mech gamer are as follows:
- Kairi — Kensho Ono (Giorno Giovanna from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure). Kairi is on a quest to find a mysterious person.
- Rudora — Miyuki Sawashiro (Raiden Shogun/Raiden Ei from Genshin Impact). Rudora works with a team of Dark Machine technicians.
- Bran — Riho Sugiyama (Yoko Araki from Code Geass: Rozé of the Recapture). Bran is a fellow high-level mecha pilot.

Dark Machine the Animation Begins a New Bout
The world’s urgent energy crisis has recently seen a breakthrough. Palmer crystals house an incredible energy source, one that could solve that crisis. However, numerous factions continue to wage battle to control whatever energy they can find. These factions have developed powerful mechs to mine the Palmer crystals and engage in combat. Unrelated parties have since used these same mecha in underground battles for supremacy.
Kairi has recently traveled to Golden Valley, a special economic zone in Japan. It’s a hotbed for the Dark Machine eSport game. His grandfather bid him “find Senki” shortly before he passed away. Senki is a title held by the top Dark Machine player rather than a person’s name. Kairi runs into a mysterious girl named Rudora as she flees Ajima, the current Senki, and his team, Aldabil. Kairi will now enter the Dark Machine arena and fight his way through the ranks to reach Senki.
