Yuuri’s schoolmate, Tsukasa, worries about him. Then she saw him with Lilith, and her imagination went into overdrive!
Episode 3 – “Gojouin Tsukasa is Precocious”
Hmm.
Every couple in The Mysterious Maid has quirks and a signature comedy exchange. We’ve seen Yuuri’s incredibly romantic declarations for Lilith make her blush for two episodes. From here on out, we’ll see Tsukasa keep asking her butler Fujisaki to wear girly clothes, and the masculine lady will keep threatening to quit. The gag for Yuuri and Lilith is how outrageous his passionate compliments will be as he makes Lilith blush into oblivion. We don’t yet know all the mechanics of Tsukasa’s comedy bit with Fujisaki. But we’ve seen Tsukasa try to get the princely servant into a frilly maid outfit and a magical girl costume. How many variations of “I quit” will Fujisaki give as a reply to Tsukasa? Let’s find out as we watch the rest of the series.
The Mysterious Maid depicted an emotionally genuine awkwardness from Yuuri’s classmates. News and rumors travel fast in their small town. I bet the children heard the details from the servants who watch over them. I appreciate that Tsukasa tried to reconnect with tactless Yuuri. But she let her interest in adult relationships get the better of her. How long will we wait until she enjoys her flights of fancy directly from Yuuri instead of overhearing them? Not long, I hope.
Heh.
First day back to school and Lilith fusses over Yuuri. Let’s see how Yuuri throws ardent praise back at her. Aha! It’s the lovey-dovey married couple gambit. Lilith is especially weak against that one. Fun! We’ll finally see another person in The Mysterious Maid besides Yuuri and Lilith. Female butler Fujisaki! Tsukasa seems like a nice girl. I like the painted backgrounds. Oh? Tsukasa is Yuuri’s friend. She also heard about his parents’ passing from her butler Fujisaki. Fear the serving staff grapevine! Yuuri’s classmates also got the news and felt awkward about approaching him.
Tsukasa remembered first meeting Yuuri. That kid has always been straightforward. If he ever learns how to augment that sincerity with politeness and charm, watch out, world! Aw. The recurring joke for The Mysterious Maid episode will be that Tsukasa keeps getting interrupted when she tries to talk to Yuuri. Try your best, Tsukasa! Ooh, cute homeroom teacher. Let’s get better-animated scenes with her as soon as possible! Whoa. These kids are rich! One of them has a grilled steak on a cast iron sizzler platter! What? Did these dishes come from the school kitchen? This is an expensive private school!
Oho? Fujisaki knows Lilith. There’s an active maidservant network in The Mysterious Maid. Huh. I see a mix of butlers, maids, nannies, and mothers picking up their children after school. Some maids are prettier than others. Oh, like a certain one with mysterious flirting eyes! And Tsukasa gets maid-blocked. Eep. Yuuri doesn’t want Lilith to pick him up from school. What crazy romantic thing will he say to justify his feelings?
Ah. Tsukasa is a voyeur too. Ahahaha! Tsukasa called Lilith “suspicious!” Yay! Tsukasa is crazy like Yuuri! Tsukasa will put everything Lilith does and says through a “special relationship” filter. Yuuri already puts Lilith’s intentions through a suspiciously charming filter. Why can’t Lilith just be beguiling? The Mysterious Maid cast a spell on me, and I don’t think it’s suspicious. Of course! Yuuri wants to keep Lilith’s beauty to himself! So selfish! So jealous! Lilith belongs to Yuuri and Yuuri alone! Please don’t make Lilith and Tsukasa blush in public.
I’m dying. Tsukasa described the comedic formula for The Mysterious Maid. Whoops, too far. This is Tsukasa’s filter: a forbidden romance between maid and master! She’ll have fun watching Yuuri and Lilith. Welp, there it is. Tsukasa will become a meme template for “lewd” things on the internet. This is gold! Tsukasa described everything great about the show! “The master-servant relationship, the age gap… It’s all so taboo!” Facts. Oh, dear. What books did Tsukasa read to learn about these “passionate” topics? Lilith and Tsukasa feel their hearts go kyuu~n when Yuuri declares romantic feelings.
Playtime is over. Fujisaki needs to take Tsukasa home. Ah. Lilith reconnects with Fujisaki. I hope we get their backstory from The Mysterious Maid during the season. Lilith remembers Tsukasa too. Yes. Yes! Let’s see Fujisaki in Lilith’s maid uniform! Oh. That’s out of bounds for the princely butler.
Aw. The Mysterious Maid didn’t go to the next part with an eyecatch. What adventures will Lilith have as she shops for groceries? I see a potential one right now! She forgot her cell phone. Ah. This vignette will be about how much Yuuri needs Lilith in his life now. Hahaha! The first thing to do alone in a big house is to snack and read manga! I spy a Maou cameo. Lilith has her own mental quirks. She wants saury fish, and she will get some! Is everyone in this town charbroiling saury tonight? Lilith is a stubborn maid.
Yuuri is out of snacks, drinks, and manga. Now what? Yuuri misses the mysterious maid, of course. Uh oh. Yuuri discovered Lilith’s phone. Things are getting serious. Woof. Lilith traveled to the next town over to get that fish. Oh, fun. Fujisaki meets Lilith. What kind of manga does Tsukasa make Fujisaki buy in the neighboring city? Yuuri leaps to the most absurd conclusions. Lilith ran away! He doesn’t need a suspicious maid anyway. Good. Fujisaki gave Lilith a ride home. Ooh. Clues on Lilith’s past. Lilith had moved away for reasons strong enough to make Fujisaki concerned about her return.
Here we go. Yuuri and Lilith need to kiss and make up about a misunderstanding like newlyweds. Yuuri feels sad, mad, and misses Lilith because she cast a curse on him. Nope. She cast a spell on him! A love spell! It’s the same gag we saw in the last two episodes of The Mysterious Maid. The poor boy will need to live with Lilith forever! Wow, what a curse. Such terrible luck. Spending the rest of his life with a beautiful, dark-skinned maid. Sucks to be him.
Epilogue time with Tsukasa. Fujisaki will quit if she wears a magical girl costume, and now we know this pair’s running joke. Next time, jiggly Lilith makes a sweet jiggle for her master.
