There’s little that anime fans love more than a badass fighter with some tantalizing curves. These are the waifus who can inspire terror on the battlefield, and love in the bedroom. All things being even, cultured otaku love tanned girls. Well, we’re here to give these fighters with a lovely tan the respect they deserve.
1. Azenda (To LOVE-Ru)
To LOVE-Ru has an overabundance of waifu archetypes, so of course it also has a tanned fighter. There are teachers, girls with pink hair, tsundere girls, lovely mothers, and even genderswap girls. Azenda the Tyrant is a formidable assassin with a grudge against Yami. This lovely tanned fighter boasts impressive skills, an eye-catching wardrobe, and unfortunate luck. Though she lost her status and fame after losing against Yami, her skills remain. In the face of Rito’s own luck, however, she is prone to falling and getting groped. This might be why she is a possible candidate for Rito’s harem.
Saki Hasemi wrote, and Kentaro Yabuki illustrated Lala’s harem plan from April 24, 2006 to March 4, 2017. Shueisha published the series in 36 volumes in Weekly Shonen Jump.
2. Kan’u Unchou (Ikkitousen)
Kan’u is an incredibly powerful fighter from Seito Academy. She is widely hailed as the “God of Martial Arts” in and around Kanto. Kan’u is a very loyal tanned fighter, especially to Ryubi Gentoku. Really loyal. An incident with a necklace that compels truth made that very clear.
Yuji Shiozaki wrote and illustrated this tale of sexy fighters based on The Romance of the Three Kingdoms from April 26, 2000, to August 26, 2015. Wani Books published all 24 volumes in Comic Gum.
3. Yoruichi Shihoin (Bleach)
Yoruichi is one of the more famous tanned fighters in anime, and for very good reason. Her godlike speed is rivaled only by her strength. Both aspects are dwarfed by her beauty, which is highlighted by her revealing clothing. It’s even more revealing in the manga version. I wonder how the anime is going to handle Yoruichi’s Shunkō: Raiju Senkei: Shunryu Kokubyo Senki.
If you want to appreciate Yoruichi’s beauty in person, J-List can help you out. The Yoruichi Shihouin 1/7 G.E.M. Series Figure is now available for purchase. She looks perfect, even during a battle to save the world.
Tite Kubo wrote and illustrated this series from August 7th, 2001, to August 22nd, 2016. Shueisha published all 74 volumes by that point.
4. Arshes Nei (Bastard!! Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy / Bastard!! Ankoku no Hakaishin / Bastard!! The Dark God of Destruction)
Arshes is truly a top-tier dark elf and tanned fighter. She is known as the “Thunder Empress” due to her incredible skill in magic. Arshes is also a competent leader, as indicated by her former Divine King title. She has since remained at Dark Schneider’s side as both a powerful ally and alluring lover. You can see her working her magical assets in the new anime adaptation.
If you’re looking for another waifu with tanned skin, J-List has a suggestion. The Kai Harn 1/6 Figure is now available for pre-order. This girl wears even less than Yoruichi. She makes the best wardrobe choices.
Kazushi Hagiwara began writing and drawing this most metal of series on March 14th, 1988. Shueisha has since published 27 volumes in various magazines under the Jump Comics imprint.
5. Echidna (Queen’s Blade)
Tanned fighters must wear very little as a sign of strength. They can take out whole squads without regular clothes, much less armor. Echidna is an ancient and powerful dark elf who has a “friendly rivalry” with a light elf. She’s strong enough to win the entire Queen’s Blade tournament, but she would rather just hit on girls and make trouble somewhere.
Queen’s Blade first began its sexy tournament as a series of visual combat books published by Hobby Japan.
6. Kei (Dirty Pair Flash)
Kei loses most of her red hair in her second universe iteration, but she’s still the lovely tanned fighter she always was. Just as before, Kei works with Yuri (with no indication of yuri) at the Worlds Works and Welfare Agency. She’s the tomboy of the team, contrasting Yuri’s more feminine attitude. How can anyone mistake her for a guy, though? That body, in that revealing attire? They must be blind.
Haruka Takachiho and Yoshikazu Yasuhiko created the original manga series from May 1980 to December 2018. Hayakawa Publishing released all nine volumes.
7. Aisha Clan-Clan (Outlaw Star / Seiho Bukyo Outlaw Star)
Aisha is a Ctarl-Ctarl, a space cat girl with extraordinary physical abilities. This includes a beast form transformation, and the ability to enjoy incredibly hot springs. Aisha was well-regarded and honored within the Ctarl-Ctarl Empire. However, her failure to capture the outlaw “Hot Ice” Hilda saw her demoted and stranded on Blue Heaven. This is where she met Gene Starwind and the cute robot girl Melfina. Their first meeting(s) didn’t go over so well, but Aisha would eventually join the crew and save the entire universe.
Takehiko Ito wrote and illustrated the manga series originally titled Starward Warrior Knight Outlaw Star from September 20, 1996, to May 20, 1999. Shueisha published all three volumes in Ultra Jump.
8. Zest (The Testament of Sister New Devil / Shinmai Maou no Testament)
Zest is a demon created using forbidden means. Her creator and father was Zolgear, an unscrupulous antagonist in the series who personifies the sin of lust. This might explain her thicc appearance. Then again, this series is known for having waifus who look stunning with or without bikinis on. The nurse alone could turn some heads. Zest may be incredibly powerful and loyal to Basara, but she has a softer side that few can see. She’s also an incredibly skilled maid. Basara remains one of the luckiest harem protagonists in anime.
This series was written by Tetsuto Uesu and illustrated by Nekosuke Okuma between September 29, 2012, and March 31, 2021. It was published in the Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko imprint, reaching thirteen volumes of thicc demons and angels.
9. Debonair Diamond (The Hunters Guild: Red Hood)
Obscure or not, buff tanned fighters should never be ignored or forgotten. Debonair works as the conductor and instructor of the Ironworks for the Hunters Guild. She is a tough and hearty tomboy with a perfect physique. Debonair wields the witch’s hex Curse of Heat to great effect. Rather than burn everything around her with supernatural body heat, she controls the flames to hunt evil. In a pinch, her Furnace Harness allows for flight.
I wouldn’t be surprised if no one has heard of this character or series before. It’s a short, three-volume series by Yuki Kawaguchi. It ran between June 28th, 2021, and November 8th, 2021 before it was canceled. If the character style looks familiar, it’s because Kawaguchi previously worked as an assistant for Kohei Horikoshi, the creator of My Hero Academia.
10. Mihoshi Kuramitsu (Tenchi Muyo!)
Mihoshi is a stunning and dutiful Galaxy Police officer, achieving the rank of Detective First Class. She comes from a high-ranking family. However, she is also kind of a ditz who causes as many problems as she solves. Fortunately for her, Kiyone Makibi is a skilled officer, and her friends are more than willing to forgive her comical mishaps.
Masaki Kajishima created a massive Tenchi-verse that spans multiple anime and manga series. It’s a harem series that might be a touch complex.
