I Want To Eat Your Pancreas just released in theaters across Japan on September 1. Earning an overwhelming 100 million yen ($960,000 USD) in box office on opening week and ranked at #10 in its opening weekend. The movie is based on Yoru Sumino’s award-winning novel by the same name. The live-action adaptation premiered in July of last year.

Initially serialized as a web novel in 2014, the book was published in print in 2015. A manga adaptation ran from 2016 to 2017. A live-action film titled Let Me Eat Your Pancreas premiered in 2017, and an anime film premiered on September 1, 2018.
