One of the greatest anime series from the mid-90s is making a grand comeback! In a tale as old as time, a princess from another world summons heroes from Earth to save her world. A fateful meeting in an iconic tower in Tokyo sweeps three girls from different high schools away on an adventure. We’ll see how they fare in battle when Magic Knight Rayearth premieres sometime in October 2026. This new series celebrates the knights’ 30th anniversary, and Yuki Kajiura is performing the music.

Magic Knight Rayearth Revisits a Classic Isekai
Hikaru Shidou, Umi Ryuuzaki, and Fuu Hououji have a fateful meeting when their different high schools decide to host a field trip at Tokyo Tower. A blinding light peers through the windows when their paths intersect. An ethereal maiden pleads with them to save her world while conjuring a magic liquid that pulls them into the ground. She calls them the “legendary magic knights,” a term unknown to them.

They quickly meet Guru Clef after his giant flying fish saves them from plummeting to the ground. He explains that the only way to return home is to fulfill Princess Emeraude’s wish and save Cephiro from chaos. The priest Zagato has kidnapped her and now prevents her wishes from maintaining peace and order in the world. They must now become true Magic Knights, revive the spirits, and defeat Zagato to save the princess and the world.
