Chained Soldier Season 2 Makes Love and War

Gateways to the demonic realm, Mato opened around Japan several decades ago. Researchers discovered the violent Yomi Shuki, which would slay them, and the Peaches, which could protect them. Unfortunately, only women could gain supernatural abilities from the Peaches, leading to a matriarchal society overnight. Only one man has proven capable in combat against the Shuki, and the women who push him into service must reward him after every victory. We’ll see how he fares when Chained Soldier (Mato Seihei no Slave) Season 2 premieres on January 8th, 2026.

Takahiro and Yohei Takemura released the original Chained Soldier manga series on January 5th, 2019. Shueisha has published nineteen volumes in Shonen Jump+. Seven Arcs’s anime adaptation premiered on January 4th, 2024.

Chained Soldier Cast

The titular soldier in chains, and the women who have chained him, are as follows:

Yuki Wakura — Yuya Hirose (Roman from Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy & the Liberator of Polar Night). Yuki was an ordinary boy who accidentally wandered into Mato.
Kyoka Uzen — Akari Kito (Nezuko Kamado from Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba). Kyoka is an exceptional member of the Anti-Demon Corps’ 7th unit. She used her Slave Blessing to turn Yuki into a monster to hunt other monsters.
Himari Azuma — Yume Miyamoto (Nika Nanaura from Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury). Himari is another member of the Anti-Demon Corps’ 7th unit. Her Learning Blessing allows her to copy other Blessings.

The Chained Soldier Charges the Enemy Once Again

Gateways to the mysterious and deadly Mato world opened around Japan over 70 years ago. They quickly discovered both the Yomi Shuki who attacked on sight and the miraculous Peaches that could bestow Blessings on humans. They learned early on that only women could inherit Blessings, which quickly put women on top of the pecking order in a matriarchal society. It’s in this setting that the average and ordinary boy — Yuki Wakura — hopes to find an important place and avoid fading into the background.

Yuki suddenly fades into a random Gateway into Mato, and a small horde of monstrous Shukis quickly attacks him. Kyoka Uzen — the chief of the Anti-Demon Corps 7th Unit — appears to save him. Her Shuki mount isn’t up to the task, prompting her to use her Slave Blessing to change Yuki into a monster soldier. As her Slave, Yuki quickly destroys the Shuki horde and its boss. He then faces the second aspect of Kyoka’s power: she must reward her Slave soldier. Whereas Shukis demand raw meat, Yuki’s inner desire is more intimate. Kyoka mounts him again to give him a deep kiss.
