Not all maidens dream of marrying a prince and living happily ever after in a castle. A certain princess would rather play outside than deal with the stuffy royal atmosphere. Her dream of freedom seems to come true when her prince-to-be appears with a different girl on his arm. This apparent act of infidelity seems to be her ticket to freedom. We’ll see how things work for her when I Want to Escape from Princess Lessons premieres on January 5th, 2025.
Izumi Sawano and Miru Yumesaki released the original I Want to Escape from Princess Lessons light novel between April 26th, 2019, and March 27th, 2020. Shufu to Seikatsu Sha has published both volumes in the PASH! Books imprint.
The unfortunate princess, the dense prince, and the hopeful princess are as follows:
- Leticia Dorman — Haruka Shiraishi (Chitose Shirakawa from The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten). A girl who would prefer to run free than be a princess.
- Clarke — Jun Fukuyama (Yumichika Ayasegawa from Bleach). The first prince of the kingdom.
- Brianna — Yuka Saito (Milky from One Piece). The girl Prince Clarke brought to the ball to make Leticia jealous.

I Want to Escape from Princess Lessons No Matter What!
Leticia Dorman is a noblewoman who has spent most of her life in the royal castle undergoing Spartan princess training. She met the First Prince Clarke when they were both young. Leticia fell from a tree and landed on top of him, and they decided to unite immediately. She hated her separation from her parents and going through the training. Her only hope was for Clarke to look at someone else and break off their engagement.
Prince Clarke appeared with a new girl on his arm as he attended the most recent royal ball. He gave a non-committal answer when Leticia asked if their engagement was off. She cheered for joy under the assumption that Clarke ended their engagement. Leticia celebrated the end of her training, wished Brianna luck with her new life, and rode away to a manor on the edge of her family’s territory. Unfortunately for her, not only did Prince Clarke follow her, but so did Brianna and her older brother. Brianna was not happy with the princess training either. Clarke was adamant that their engagement was still on and that he must win her affections.
