Tsuyoshi Yasuda released the original Blue Miburo manga — titled The Blue Wolves of Mibu (Ao no Miburo) — on October 13th, 2021. Kodansha has published thirteen volumes in Weekly Shonen Magazine since.
Three of our proud warriors are as follows:
- Nio Chirinu — Shuichiro Umeda (Shewbahha from Yu-Gi-Oh! Go Rush!!). An orphan with a kind heart and a sense of justice. He joins the Miburo to fight for his ideals.
- Toshizo Hijikata — Yohei Azakami (Guel Jeturk in Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury). A ronin who remained in Kyoto to continue their fight. He invited Nio to join the Miburo.
- Hajime Saito — Chiaki Kobayashi (Stark from Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End). He is one of the three wolves of Miburo.
Maho Film has maintained a home page, a TikTok channel, an Instagram page, and a Twitter (X) page to promote Blue Miburo. You can find more information about the series and the key visuals there. Fans can see the wolves of Mibu gathered for battle.
The Ronin of Blue Miburo Gather for Revolution
Nio is an orphan whom a restaurant owner adopted. He happily served customers alongside his adopted sister, Iroha. Nio’s life took an unexpected turn when he met Hijikata Toshizo and Okita Souji. They’re ronin and members of the Miburo. Though they act kind and amiable, they harbor strength and ambitious dreams. Nio was immediately drawn to them.
Nio became involved with them when they saved his and Iroha’s lives. He criticized their choice to use them as bait to lure out kidnappers. Toshizo heard his laments about how the weakest of society are made to suffer and his desire to change everything. He and Hajime invited Nio to join their ranks to fight for the changes Nio wishes to see in the world.
