It’s been a while since we discussed this cute mother and her beautiful daughter. Dekoboko Majo no Oyako Jijo (The Witch’s Bumpy Parent and Child Situation) tells the story of a powerful witch raising a human daughter and the loving and fun bond between parent and child. - Alyssa — Aoi Koga (Kaguya Shinomiya in Kaguya-sama: Love Is War). Alyssa is a powerful 223-year-old witch. She adopted an abandoned human and raised the child as her own. Despite her power, she is still petite.
- Viola — Nana Mizuki (Kozuki Hiyori in One Piece). A 16-year-old human and prodigy in magic. She loves her mother dearly. Despite being significantly younger than her mother, she looks older and more mature.
- Lyra — Romi Park (Tōshiro Hitsugaya in Bleach). A very muscular shopkeeper and Alyssa’s and Viola’s friend.

A Magical Family
Dekoboko Majo no Oyako Jijo is a slice-of-life tale about a witch adopting a human girl as her own daughter. Alyssa is already quite old and powerful but has a petite figure. Alyssa found this human infant abandoned in the forest and raised her in a home surrounded by magic and love. Sixteen years later, the human girl Viola has grown exceptionally well. She is skilled in magic, and she gained a truly mature figure.
Several jokes are made at their contrasting appearances. Alyssa is often mistaken as Viola’s apprentice because Alyssa looks younger and less mature than Viola. In addition, Viola may have something of a mother complex. She becomes jealous should anyone indicate romantic interest in her mother. Indeed, when deciding upon a familiar, she thinks of one Alyssa would not find cute. Viola didn’t want Alyssa’s affections divided between herself and some magical creature.
In the end, Alyssa and Viola share a strong bond. Alyssa will dote on her daughter and cave to any request made with an earnest and adorable expression. Those seeking a cute slice-of-life tale about a magical mother and daughter need look no further.
