As was prophesied three years ago, a teaser trailer has been uploaded, giving fans of the long-running series a peek at the anime adaptation of The Seven Deadly Sins: Four Knights of the Apocalypse, the sequel series that takes place sixteen years after the ending of The Seven Deadly Sins. There’s no firm release date so far, only a vague promise that fans will be able to revisit the Kingdom of Liones sometime in 2023. Until then, we can watch Percival effortlessly take down a vicious monster.

As was previously stated, The Seven Deadly Sins: Four Knights of the Apocalypse takes place sixteen years after Meliodas and the Seven Deadly Sins ended the Second Holy War, and destroyed the Demon King and the Supreme Deity. The coming age was not quite peaceful, as King Arthur employed the power of Chaos, prompting a knight named Varghese to take his grandson Percival to Liones. The king of Liones, Meliodas himself, with his wife Queen Elizabeth beside him, welcomed the two as friends. Rather than rely on their help, Varghese decided to raise Percival atop God’s Finger, a large landmass that extends beyond the clouds.
Percival’s father Ironside, a knight loyal to King Arthur, tracked the two and struck them down, leaving them to die. However, Percival survived and set out to uncover the truth. In the process, he met new friends, three of whom would join him as those destined to become the titular Four Knights of the Apocalypse.
Percival himself represents Death, Gawain, King Arthur’s niece, and a woman who looks and dresses similar to Merlin, represents Famine, Lancelot, the son of Ban and Elaine, represents War, and Tristan Liones, the son of Meliodas and Elizabeth, represents Pestilence.
The story of The Seven Deadly Sins: Four Knights of the Apocalypse centers around these knights and their ongoing battle against King Arthur.
As previously stated, The Seven Deadly Sins: Four Knights of the Apocalypse (Mokushiroku no Yonkishi) is a sequel series to The Seven Deadly Sins (Nanatsu no Taizai), a wildly popular manga series that ran from October 10th, 2012 to March 25th, 2020, in a total of 41 volumes. At the end of the final chapter, writer and artist Nakaba Suzuki announced the sequel series, which was eventually released on January 27th, 2021. While the series focuses on newer characters, the veterans are well represented. There are currently ten volumes that fans can collect and read.
