Good news for fans of the recently delayed Uncle From Another World anime adaptation. If you recall from our previous article on the anime, it was reported that because of COVID-19 infections the series was going to enter an indefinite hiatus with previous episodes being reaired throughout September and the premiere of episode eight being delayed to a then unknown time.
In an update posted on the official Twitter account, we can now confirm that new episodes of the series will begin airing on November 24th in Japan. Leading up to that point, the previous (already aired) seven episodes will begin rebroadcasting in Japan starting on October 6th. Outside of Japan, Netflix has been streaming the series worldwide.
Originally a manga series created by the author Hotondoshindeiru, Uncle From Another World began serializing on the ComicWalker website in June 2018. There are currently eight volumes available in Japan as of August 2022, while Yen Press has released five volumes in English as of August 2022.
Initially announced in June 2021, the anime adaptation produced by the studio AtelierPontdarc began airing in July 2022, featuring Shigeki Kawai as director and Kenta Ihara as the scriptwriter. You might recall that besides the indefinite hiatus mentioned in the introduction of this article, Uncle From Another World has faced other forms of bad luck, with the fifth episode being delayed for two weeks.
The Uncle From Another World anime adaptation has been generating a large amount of positive buzz from fans around the world since it premiered. Many fans have been praising the rarely used reverse isekai format employed by this series, but I can imagine that some fans are annoyed by the constant delays. Will fans around the world stay loyal to Uncle From Another World when new episodes begin airing in late November? Only time will tell.
