The star of shonen anime and manga series Black Clover continues to rise higher and higher. With plenty of fans in Japan and around the globe, it only makes sense for a mobile game based on the wizarding world of the series to get the green light. Black Clover Phantom Knights has already been running in Japan since November of 2018, but Bandai Namco have confirmed that the smartphone game will be receiving an English-language version in 2020. It will be available for iOS via the App Store and Android via Google Play, and pre-registration is already live.

Black Clover Phantom Knights is a multiplayer mobile game that puts a kingdom-defense style twist on the action of the original series. There are also plenty of traditional RPG elements in it, as well. Players take charge of their own Magic Knights brigade, customizing their team and their kingdom as they defend and develop it in order to become the strongest brigade out there.
Asta, Yuni, Yami, and Noelle are available in-game, alongside dozens of other recognizable characters from the original series. Black Clover Phantom Knights also introduces a variety of all-new characters for you to meet and recruit. Numerous characters from the Magic Knights of the Clover Kingdom, the Diamond Kingdom army, and even the White Night Eye will be available to recruit. You’ll be able to use them to experience a completely new story that differs from the narrative of the original story.
This isn’t the first time that Black Clover has gotten the video game treatment. Before Black Clover Phantom Knights came out, a console game called Black Clover Quartet Knights was developed and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. The console game was a team-based competitive third-person shooter, with iconic characters from the series teaming up to score flags, defend their bases, and rack up kills. The game launched worldwide for the PlayStation 4 and PC via Steam in September of 2018.
The original Black Clover manga launched in Weekly Shonen Jump back in February of 2015. Eventually, the Yūki Tabata-created manga was licensed by Viz Media to be published digitally and in print in North America. The anime, meanwhile, premiered in Japan in October, 2017, and is currently ongoing. Crunchyroll streams the series in Japanese with English subtitles, while Funimation is currently streaming the English dub of the series.
