Studio Pierrot has uploaded a set of new character trailers for Black Clover Sword of the Wizard King (Black Clover Mahotei no Ken). The YouTube uploads are unfortunately region locked, but the tweets are fine. We’ll focus on Asta’s trailer, but Yuno’s trailer is just as action-packed. Fans can see more when the movie premieres on June 16th, 2023.

Pierrot has maintained an official Twitter page for the anime adaptation. They have also set up a promotional home page for Black Clover Sword of the Wizard King. Behind the scenes information, in addition to the key visual, can be found on those sites.
The Black Clover manga series has its own Twitter page as well. The original mangaka Yuki Tabata drew a couple of special illustrations for the movie, one of which appeared in issue 17 of Weekly Shonen Jump.
The Rise of the Wizard Kings
Black Clover Sword of the Wizard King continues Asta’s and Yuno’s quest to become as strong as possible. Their goal is the title of Wizard King, the being who stands above all others in the Clover Kingdom’s Magic Knights. Julius Novachrono is the 28th Wizard King, a man known for being as kind as he is wise.
Conrad Leto was Julius Novachrono’s immediate predecessor to the title. He was respected in his time, but he faced a rebellion and lost. He was sealed away, perhaps because a final defeat was unlikely. In recent times, this former ruler has made a return, wielding the Emperor’s Sword. He has used this to resurrect the three most feared Wizard Kings in history: Edward Avalaché, Princia Funnybunny, and Jester Garandaros. Their stated goal is to take control of the Clover Kingdom, perhaps in an attempt to retake former glory.
As an aside, Princia is the only woman in the group, and the artist HAHI has drawn some art of her. I imagine the new potentially evil magic waifu will be a great draw for the movie.
Black Clover Origins
Yuki Tabata has been writing and illustrating the series since February 16th, 2015. Shueisha has thus far published 35 volumes in Weekly Shonen Jump.
There are a couple of novels, some video games, and even an OVA for fans to delve into. The anime series that Studio Pierrot adapted aired from October 3rd, 2017 to March 30th, 2021, for a total of 170 episodes.
Yuki Tabata has also drawn the character design for Conrad Leto.
