Ah, anime memes. They’re such a fun way of connecting with other members in the wider anime community and possibly get some new fans to watch that latest, greatest anime we’re interested in evangelizing. I asked J-List’s customers of culture whether they’d ever watched an entire series because of an anime meme they saw on the Internet, and here are the responses we got from them!

Konosuba. I saw the meme where Kazuma stole Megumin’s panties, and it was all downhill for me.
I watch a whole series because of a panty shot.

This is so me. I watched Blend-S completely due to the ‘S stands for’ meme.

Walkure Romanze. They were jousting and taking their skirts off. How could I resist?
Watched Ore Monogatari because of this obscure banana meme. Turns out the anime is very, very wholesome and sweet.
I watched Another because of “that” umbrella scene.
I’m pretty sure I got into School Days because of a couple of memes, since it’s not something I would normally get into. Most anime with some sort of “shock value” entice me because of the memes, actually, but very few actually get me to invest the time. I don’t regret watching School Days, though.
It’s funny because I watch Citrus precisely because of this meme. And I loved it.

What about me? What anime have I watched because of a random anime meme I encountered? I can’t think of any shows I watched because of seeing an anime meme, but I did watch all of Bubuki Buranki, a very forgettable about… I forget what because it was an ugly 100% CGI mess, but I liked this cute girl with the glasses.
