Happy birthday to Japanese voice actress Sora Amamiya, one of Japan’s cutest and most talented voices. She turns 30 years old today. Let’s look at her most beloved anime voice roles over the years!
Sora Amamiya was born August 28, 1993. In her second year of high school, a friend who liked anime showed Sora a TV program featuring voice actress Miyuki Sawashiro, who voices Kanbaru Suruga and many other “boyish” roles. This made her think seriously for the first time about pursuing voice acting as a future career. She passed an audition and made her debut in the lead role of One Week Friends in 2014.
Sora was shy in high school, so she joined the light music club and sang in a band on stage to overcome her internal inferiority complex. She learned early on that if she was persistent and refused to give up, she could eventually achieve any goal.
Sora Amamiya’s hobbies are taking care of her cats and eatingย yakiniku (Korean-style BBQ). Growing up, she was always a bit obsessive about the color blue, which is perfect for her role as Aqua from Konosuba.
What Are Sora Amamiya’s Most Important Voice Roles?
The most famous role featuring Sora Amamiya is definitely Chizuru Ichinose from Rent a Girlfriend. She’s so good in this role, even people who hate the anime generally love the character.
Sora also voices Aqua from Konosuba, the useless goddess from that anime.
Sora also played the lead role in the Akame ga Kill! yuri-bait assassin anime from 2014.
If you’ve ever wanted to date a snake, you’re probably a fan of the Daily Life with Monster Girls anime from 2015. And you probably love Sora Amamiya for playing the role of “best snek” Miia!

Talk about typecasting! Sora also plays Crusch Lulu in Overlord II, the female lizardman who made the famous “Impregnate me!” meme a while back.
One of the saddest anime to come along in recent years was Plastic Memories, the story of a wonderful age where humans can live alongside androids called Giftia. I’m sure nothing could ever go wrong with that, right?
Why are some of the saddest anime series also the best one? Blog post for you here!ย
How heavy are the dumbbells you lift? Because Sora also plays Akemi from the anime by the same name!
One of the early breakout roles for Sora Amamiya was as the voice of Elizabeth Liones from the Nanatsu no Taizai ecchi anime series, about a fantasy world where sexual harassment is the norm.
Nazuna Nanakusa from Call of the Night is another fun role starring Sora Amamiya. She really makes the character come to life for us.

Sora also voices Miko Yotsuya from the Mieruko-chan horror anime, which was totally not about the undead getting choice views of the sexy bodies of the living or anything.
It seems there are a lot of anime centered around viewing theย pantsu of Sora’s characters. She also voices Mikatan from the Punch Line anime. It’s about a boy whose spirit gets separated from his body. If he sees a girl’s panties twice in one day, the Earth will be destroyed!
Finally, Sora Amamiya plays the lead role of Lily in the Spy Classroom anime. Are you a fan of this series?
