Generalizations are never a solid idea, but sometimes there’s truth in them. I’m sure that much like myself, my fellow weebs know of a franchise solely from its lewd art and doujins. I’ve never seen or played Blue Archive, The Idolm@ster, or Arknights, yet I know plenty of their characters. Hell, I can describe some of them intimately. That’s not something to be ashamed about. Doujins have served as a franchise introduction for many people. I own merch from all three franchises despite never delving further into them than lewdness. But say you’re a fan of them and of Arknights specifically. Did you know we have some of the finest Arknights figures out there? Let me pitch some of their figures based on their looks alone.
Arknights Figures — Dusk Ukiyo no Kaze 1/7 Scale Figure
Let me tell you a bit about my life. Some years ago, I was at a reptile rehabilitation center, and the guide decided to place an 8′ boa on me. For whatever reason, that snake wrapped around my chest and constricted it. My dear readers, when that pressure had hit, and I felt the odd feeling of its scale rubbing against me, a new kink was born. Ever since then, I’ve loved reptile-themed waifus, so Dusk was a character that instantly enchanted me. Dusk’s sleek and ravishing tail, slightly dangerous expression, and horn are to my liking. And Apex perfectly captures all those qualities in their Dusk Ukiyo no Kaze 1/7 Scale Figure.
Featuring the 6★ Splash Caster in her Ukiyo no Kaze outfit, this Ark Knights figure perfectly embodies the term “sexily refined.” With an elegant, stylized blouse, a bright blue belt, and a tight-fitting diamond-patterned skirt, Dusk instantly commands one’s gaze. We should revere Kilo Oki’s sculpting work on this figure. The positioning of Dusk’s hair and her outfit’s ribbons make the figure sway like smoke in the wind. Meanwhile, the opposing positions of her belt and tail highlight her long and slender legs. Even the scales on her tail have meticulous craftsmanship. I’ve written a lot about figures here and elsewhere. Of all those, this figure has my favorite color production. The fades, hues, and contrasts are outright magic. The Dusk Ukiyo no Kaze 1/7 Scale Figure stands at 10.2″ (26 cm). She’s currently in stock and retails for $190.
Good Smile Company’s Surtr Liberté//Échec 1/7 Figure
Few figure makers have as much prestige as Good Smile Company. Not only do they consistently deliver quality products, but they also cater to several types of collectors. That love for quality is vividly present in this Arknights figure. The Surtr Liberté//Échec 1/7 Figure not only shows the Arts Fighter’s charm, but it also comes with a UR level base. The figure features the fiery redhead leaning against a construction barrier. Stylish boots and calf-high socks adorn her luscious legs.
Surtr’s vermilion short skirt and black shirt give the figure a slight HxC feel. She looks like she’ll be crowd-killing at a Get The Shot pit. Kamui’s sculpting job puts a smile on my face. The figure has such craftmanship that I can’t help but grin whenever I see it. I’m unsure if she’d be a skater or if that skateboard could double as a mugging tool, but it works.
Seriously, this figure brings some mad nostalgia. Surtr seems like she’d complain that the Summer Slaughter tour isn’t what it used to be. The color production works so well, too, as the hazard colors of the barrier behind Surtr only highlight her colors. The figure’s color scheme even highlights her striking amethyst-colored eyes. I have to gush about the cohesion of this piece, as even her leather accessories buff her style. Part of Good Smile Company’s 1/7 scale, the figure stands at 11.41″. Arknights Figures — RIBOSE’s Amiya Celebration Time Figure
Maybe you’re looking at that Dusk Ukiyo no Kaze 1/7 Scale Figure and thinking, “It should have been mine!” But if you’re like me, your bank account looks as bleak as the ending of Happy Sugar Life. Yet, despite being a filthy peasant, you find yourself wishing you had some Arknights figures. In that scenario, there’s no need to fret, as the homeboys at RIBOSE understand the plight of the Common Man. Their Amiya Celebration Time figure makes a stellar addition to any figure collection, and at $55, it’s tremendously affordable. Well. Relatively affordable.
Featuring one of the lead protagonists from Arknights and fan-favorite characters, the figure’s quality far exceeds its price. The different shades of Amiya’s gallant obsidian-colored dress’s bottom give the illusion of various layers. And the darker roses perfectly capture the impression of patterned lace. The blue highlights of her dress, heels, and accessories perfectly match her eyes, and that’s a huge plus (in my opinion). And if that weren’t enough, Amiya’s winking smile significantly adds to the endearing factor of this figure. The Amiya Celebration Time figure comes with a checkered-styled base. What’s Arknights About?
Developed by Hypergryph, Arknights is a gacha, free-to-play mobile game. The game features tactical RPG/tower defense mechanics. Arknights received its Chinese launch in May 2019. Its global release followed on January 16, 2020. A Taiwanese release occurred a few months later, on June 29. In 2022, the developers announced Arknights: Endfield, a spin-off open-world RPG gacha game for Microsoft Windows and mobile devices. China’s National Press and Publication Administration expects the game’s release by the end of August this year. The franchise now boasts two Yostar animated TV animes, with a third season announced for this year. Lee’s Detective Agency, an animated spin-off mini-series from Gravity Well, aired in 2022. All series are available on Crunchyroll.
Arknights happens on Terra, a planet in a galaxy far, far away. A valuable mineral known as Originium appeared on that planet after several natural disasters. While Originium enhances people’s ability to use magic, it also infects them with a progressively fatal disease (Oripathy). Those infected with the disease face shunning and persecution as if they were Makoto in School Days. The player views the game through a character known as “Doctor,” the amnesic commander of the self-defense/pharmaceutical organization Rhodes Island. The organization aims to cure/stop the spread of Oripathy while simultaneously defending against the various governments of Terra and militant organizations like the Reunion Group.
